Something constructive...

As tempting as it is to go full-scorched earth vindictive and feed on the inevitable suffering that orange man will wreak upon those who voted for him, that won't really help much. Aside from my thirst for vengeance at least. Instead, I'd like to give some constructive advice in this journal.
First, if you are a Trump supporter, Hi...why are you here? This is not for you and I do not like you or want you here. This Ted Talk is for your enemies, so kindly shoo off my page. Or better yet, leave an angry comment so I can block you.
For anyone who is against Trump and his agenda, I'm now going to piss you off by telling you things you don't want to hear. The main thing is that YOU NEED TO JOIN THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY. I know, I know, they're terrible. Corrupt, self-serving, nepotistic, almost as bad as the Republican party. Why exactly do you think that is though? The reason the Democrats are so terrible is because the party chooses its own leadership from within the party. Therefore, only members of the party have a say in its leadership. If the party is made up primarily of rich neolibs... You see my point.
The politics in this country is always going to be D vs R, at least for the foreseeable future. You will never, ever change how the Democratic party works by standing on the outside and shrieking in at them. They can't hear you. Piles of money are great soundproofing after all. You always complain that we're given a choice between bad and worse. That it feels like the worst possible candidate is hand-picked by the party elites just to fail miserably. You're not wrong, I'll give you that.
The problem is that you're also treating elections like this thing you do once every 4 years. There's a process behind it. There is a way to put your thumb on the scale and have more say in how things work. You have to actually be a member of the party though. The rules are made from within.
Being an independent is a great way of morally washing your hands of all the BS both parties get up to, but it's also a means of dodging any responsibility for making things better in the future. If people like us don't change things, things won't change. It's that simple.
So hold your nose, join the Democratic party, and start trying to mold things in the image of our generation as opposed to elder liches like Pelosi and Schumer. Sacrifice the moral "high ground" for the ability to fix the broken system. It might mean taking more responsibility, but the trade-off is that you actually have a chance to make things better for yourself and everyone else. Will you alone be able to make a difference? No, get that idea out of your head. Sorry but you are not the Main Characterâ„¢ and you can't fix it yourself. If enough of us get involved though, the future of the party is in our hands. Current leadership is in its 80s. How much longer can they possibly live?
And to be clear, just going to the post office and registering as a Democrat will NOT make a lick of difference. You need to be active in party politics. It might mean giving up a small amount of your gaming/fapping time to do other, far more boring activities, but still, it'll be worth it in the long run. Sitting around after every election cycle idly complaining about the results or the candidates without having made any effort to affect those things is the definition of impotent whining and virtue-signalling. Yes, we all know Orange Man Bad. Let's instead focus on who's good and how we can get them on the ballot next time.
