In light of recent events, there are some folks (myself included) contemplating the idea of moving to someplace new.
And while I can't make use of this info due to financial conditions, I've passed it along to a couple people in the off-chance it helps them. And now I'm passing it along here, too:
Portugal, an EU nation, offers what is known as a Digital Nomad visa. It's available to freelancers who regularly make and have been making around $3500 a month from their freelance work. (which I don't)
You can read more about it here:

If you have the means, it would be a way to just sit out the next four years from a safe distance.

Next time, try sticking to the facts and keep your political opinions out of it.
Read this: https://www.state.gov/reports/2022-.....ices/portugal/
And take note of this: “There were no reports of significant human rights abuses.”
You presented Portugal as a nation of bloodthirsty, murderous troglodytes, and backed that up with an “appeal to authority” fallacy. Your opinion does not appear to be realistic.
Where is your proof?
It's still a silly idea to flee the country, Trump's going to have his hands full straightening out the border and getting the economy back on track to be worrying about gay people...
Plus there's the evidence that he actually fixed the economy the last time he was president, though it is true he added 6-7 trillion to the debt, Biden added around 8 and everything is measurably worse..
This doesn't have the final numbers for Biden because they aren't out yet; but it's going to be 8 trillion.
Was this very post not a politically motivated opinion?
I'd mention that Iceland is lovely in the spring, but we already have enough tourists.
Iceland did score very highly as a good location for a long vacation.
