Stories and Platform Suggestions

As part of wanting to focus more on my creativity, I've been focusing on writing stories lately. Its a good outlet to have - especially since I am not in a place to commission art at the moment - and I feel like I've been hitting a good stride, even though dredging the inspiration and the words to communicate things remains difficult. It is weird, although I write for a living, writing stories is a whole different animal than research reports and articles.
I have a hankering for sharing them. I want to get some constructive critique on what and how I can improve things, but also because I am curious if any reader will resonate with what I write. But I am self-conscious and find it hard to share things of myself, especially the stories which tend to have some gnarly imagery and abstract themes like exploring the concept of the Self.
Ideally, here would be the place to publish them. Thematically, they will be most at home here and here is also where I have the biggest following. I have also already explored the setting of the stories with artwork and posted them here. So it seems the most sensible place. The stories in general are scifi-fantasy-horror. Many of them lately are about the demons in my setting, and exploring/expositing how their world, perceptions, and cosmology works. Anthros are present but very understated (the scifi half of the setting is much more focused on anthros).
At the same time though, I've never been sure if FA is particularly good for stories. And even if it is, is it a good place to get constructive/editing critique?
Are there other places I can publish? Any suggestions? Thoughts?

It's not bad, but it's not the best. Story-only submissions consistently get less views and comments than art submissions :(

It has been for me! Met lots of fellow writers that gave me hints and helped me :)
To conclude: there are better platforms overall for stories (AO3 comes to mind), but for furry-centred writing FA is still the best imo.
AO3 did cross my mind but I am always hung up on the "fandom" part. As technically my stories aren't fan fiction.
Still, given it is a furry-adjacent setting, I reckon this place might do.

I think this is the best place to post furry / furry-adjacent stories
FA - as a website and UI - isn't very good at posting stories in my opinion. You either put the whole text in the description, or you force people to download a .pdf . From my experience, the best way to 'post' a story here is to actually post it primarily on SoFurry, then cross-post the link to it here.
However, FA - as a community - is excellent! Overall the people who use this site are excellent at giving fair critiques with a positive attitude when asked. You don't often catch random BS critique in the comments. If you're nurtured a good vibe with the people who follow you here, it'll translate into great community critique.

Unless its changed SF (SoFurry) has been known to be the Story Hub.
But I have seen that people like stories here on FA as well. But guess it depends if you have a the right audience.
Id say go ahead and post your stories, see how it goes.
Formatting here is a relic kinda, so you just port in the text for those who don't want the PDF

Nonsexual stories get low engagement, but they DO get engagement. Even just one or two who comments can be great and the important thing is to have fun anyways
Oh yeah, as long as a few people seem to reead, like or otherwise critique it, I am good. It is just that my stories tend to straddle a line where they can be very sexual, but in a non-titilating way. Which I guess means the audience expecting more fun stuff doesn't get that and the audience expecting something nonsexual doesn't get it either.
