Hi Marty here with the week's Results! Onto week 13:
- In California, The Demons continued on their streak of wins as they moved closer and closer to the Bandits and a playoff spot, as they played an efficient and clean game against the Corsairs. Kiedo Masquarde was particularly efficient for the Demons, being 31/39 with 262 yards passing and 2 TDs, no picks. Leone Lopez had the lone TD for the Corsairs in this game, rushing for 99 yards. The Demons won this one 30-10.
- In Nashville, an early scare as Darius Smith got hurt for the Outlaws, but it wouldn’t be too serious. Although Lezra Astrah coming in as the backup, has arguably the best game of her career (26/29, 312 yards, 3 TDs) making things tough on the Tuts. Nashville fought hard to match the Outlaws on offense, but Chicago’s defense was still tough as ever, as players like Chicago Defensive tackle Raphael McCormick would shine, as he recovered a fumble for a touchdown to dash Nashville’s hopes. Chicago won 38-20.
- In New York, it wouldn’t be as close as it was last week for QB backup Rosie Welshemere as the Las Vegas Bandits came in town and Slyvester Stapler would have an classic elite performance (30/37, 306 yards, 3 TDs, 1 rushing TD, 1 INT) and Running Back Ricky Wit-Ricky (113 yards rushing, 1 TD) carved their way into the Defiant Defense, which does not arrive often. Defiant did put up a fight on Defense, including a Pick six from Draft Standout Cornerback Gregory Brisby. Las Vegas won this one 56-24.
- In Richmond, the Ponies managed to have a decent performance as they needed a win in order to hope to catch some ground for a playoff chance, as small as it may be. After much effort, Rookie standout Kennedy Rodriguez earned his first career rushing TD, as Christian Wright had a good outing (19/30, 291 yards, 2 TDs). Not all is doom and gloom for the Flames, as rookie Wide receiver Chris Davis has reached the 1000 yards plateau and a front runner for OROTY. Baltimore won this one 48-13.
- In Miami, The Tropics continue to show some life, as they would capitalize on a struggling and injured Grand Rapids Dragons. Miami running back Jermaine Traylor would have a great day (80 yards rushing 2 TDs). The Dragons continued to have bad luck offensively, as this time wide receiver Van Baarle would get hurt. Miami won this one 27-16.
- In North Florida, The Crushers would make it exciting at the very end, as Erica Blanche de la Rosa and Aspen Redfield did everything they could to close the gap at the end of the game, but to no avail. The Renegades continued to keep marching forward to fight for their division lead, as North Florida QB Caryn Becker (19/21, 267 yards, 2 TDs) and veteran wide receiver Olen Reuyters ( 97 yards , 2 receiving TDS) took care of business. North Florida wins 27-20.
- In Downriver, In an ironic reverse of fortune, the Waves would be the one dominating on defense for a rare occasion, as the Bald Eagles had a tough day on that end. In a game where running was mostly on display, it was once again the Lillian Newman shot as she had her fun against Easton (22/33, 205 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT, 94 rushing yards, 2 rush TDs). Downriver won this one 24-14.
- And finally in Montreal, a game that looked promising on paper ended up to be a total dud for the Austin Blues, as the Montreal Royal would end up blanking them at home, giving us the second time in the season that a team didn't manage to score. Vito Iigustica had a monster game ( 138 yards, 2 TDs) and Nigel Seals did fair enough to replace an injured Tyron Appleby. Montreal won this one 34-0.
