Well, my birthday came and went quietly. Dinner with my sibs, gift cards, no presents, no cake, and no balloons. Funny thing, most of my birthday cards came from my doctors and stores.

I find that as I get older, birthdays tend to be quieter and quieter. A meal with your family is nice at least! I can understand the gift cards too, as older adults no one really knows what kind of presents to get, so a gift card is just easier. As for cake and balloons, yeah, those would have made it nicer. The best thing though is today, it's truly why it's called "the present"!
