Oddly enough I fenced against the lead singer of that group. I believed he died last year.

And too bad that clock doesn’t reflect the bio war which is more likely.

Bruce Dickinson is the band's vocal ever since, and the one Iron Maiden is famous for. He is known for being a pilot and frequently flew the band's 747 and 757. He's still doing tours as of 2024

Ah yes, already watching the far left hand wringing over this, most immediately blaming Trump since he's the current political monster.

Yet Putin even admitted not ruling out using nuclear weapons "Defensively" Against Ukraine.

I'm more concerned with Iran hyper developing nuclear weapons grade uranium since their extremist mullahs and heads of office still want to glass Israel and likely Saudi Arabia next.

The thing with the MAD doctrine, it is deterrence through fear. Fear that the opposing force has the will and ability to retaliate to a first strike, whether it is a sudden, massive preemptive attack or an escalation from a lower intensity conflict.

Most people don't realize that the primary mission of a strategic nuke (as opposed to tactical nuke) is not to level cities or destroy enemy formation. It is to instill fear to the mind of the enemy, to DETER them from using their own nukes. A nuclear weapon that has to be launched in anger had failed its primary mission: DETERRENCE

I remember when Theresa May first sworn into office and was asked by the press if she was willing to use UK's nuclear stockpile when the need arise. YES. yes she should, otherwise the point of stockpiling nuke is MOOT.

I barely remember as a wee Rabbi, my dad was in a panic stocking the basement and running the family downstairs on drill repeatedly. All because of that little incident over Cuba. Thing is, that house would have collapsed on us if it was an actual strike since it was entirely made of wood.
