No way Trumpeter is releasing THIS
Being a long time modeller, it's not unusual to find kit manufacturers offering 2-in-1 "combo" kits every once in a while. Most of the time, the subjects are adversaries from a certain conflicts or time period, such as Airfix's iconic and long-running "Dogfight Double" series which features subjects from WW1, WW2 or Vietnam war.
Lately, I came across such kit from Trumpeter which, as far as i'm aware, rarely releases such offer. What's more, while Airfix and Hasegawa generally features adversaries from conflicts of decades past, someone at Trumpeter had a bright idea to put together 1/72 kits of Chengdu J-10 and Dassault Rafale...
In Pakistani and Indian markings! Just a month (weeks?!) Since their last scrap over Kashmir.

I know that the Chinese were over the moon (snrk) after recent reports of their J-10 shooting down Indian Rafales but this is getting realy hilarious. At current rate, i guess we'll be seeing J-35 / F-35 combo pretty soon.
I'm not complaining though. After all, I think this is the first J-10 kit to be released with Pakistani marking on the market. From what i can gather, the tooling is relatively new, 2016 for the J-10 and 2009 for the Rafale (through Hobbyboss, Trumpeter's sister brand) so the molding quality should be on par with Trumpeter's latest releases.
While I've no longer build in 1/72 for quite some time now, I think i'm going to get this one just for the fact that it has Pakistani and Indian markings. No official release date as of yet, so let's just see how much this is gonna sell on the market first.

Alternatively, Trumpeter has just released their new tool Huey (2024) which you might want to check out.
