Question About Storywriting

You're actually going to read this? I admire you
So I want to get back into writing, but I have a question for all of you. I want to do stories with my characters, but at different points in their life. Perhaps as adults, or maybe young children. To do this, I'd have to give definitive birth date's for all my characters, and I would be dating each of my stories. Is that something that would interest anyone?

If you're thinking to do an ongoing narrative, a timeline comes in real handy to help glue everything together.
But if it's loose one-off adventures set in different varying time periods, maybe setting a specific birthyear for each character could make it limiting. It's why certain franchises tend to avoid addressing specific dates.
That's my input though ^^
You'll still create a timeline when doing this, basically, even if the stories are loose. It ain't a bad thing of course, I'm just curious on how you'd go about it, given it's admittedly a rarity in most stories.
