For those who watch me, and have a nvidia gpu of 4000 or if you were 'lucky' 5000 series due to the low amount they made. Not counting laptops.
You now have a fire hazard in your machine.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kb5YzMoVQyw As seen here.
To put it bluntly a lack of understanding of even basic electrical theory can cause the card to pull up to 600w on a SINGLE wire and the card will happily run, as your system catches fire.

We don't even keep our cell phones inside anymore. OR in our vehicles. We get home, turn them 'OFF' and then stuff them in a shop firecan (Normally used to store rags that have grease/oil/solvent on them) beside the door. Tad over-cautious? Meybe. Beats the hell out of having to replace a vehicle OR home!
Thanks for the heads-up!
While I don't have any of those critters, we DO have a PC inside, and I continue to look at the thing with a very wary eye!
But anyway, it's going away. Solid state lithium batteries are here. CATL currently produces them. There's also Sodium batteries that are actually in production right now and with some products on the market. though i think the only one you can get here in the states is one of those luggable battery banks. In china you can buy two city-range electric cars powered by them(city range is sub 200 mile range)
As for this, well, this is more of either self destructive cost cutting or someone who's incompetent being hired and then put in charge of the design of the power circuitry of the card.
I don't keep up with modern tech, aside from what folks share/post, or the occasional news-flash headline, so won't pretend to grasp the science behind this stuff.
I AM hoping for (And will happily pounce upon) improvements! The cell phone 'I' have (Not even a clue to the Manufacturer, much less where its battery came from), is only for roadside emergencies. I barely used the thing in the past five years, and it's mostly been a paperweight.
For heavy use (ie, Solar Power storage), that's closer to what I'm interested in (Off-grid living), and again, am horribly ignorant about the 'Details.' I am learning, albeit slowly!
Thanks for the clarification and help in what to look for!
