I cut my drawing hand!
I was helping to fix my parents' water heater. It figures theirs would go out right after my mother's hospital scare. My water heater went out on me last year at the same time as I had a mechanical scare with my truck. When it rains, it just fucking pours! I had to have a Tetanus shot too, and my whole arm hurts! I'm not gonna be able to do anything with it for like two days. I can barely type with it. And I'm left handed. So that sucks!
When trying to fix my parents' water heater, the bottom element in it was stuck. And the cheap tool I had for the job stripped. So I had to buy a 1 & 1/2 inch socket just to get the stuck element out, and my parents were out over $50 for the new elements and thermostats. While pulling on the sucket wrench, my hand slipped, and I backhanded some old sheet metal cover thing that was in the water heater compartment. It was bleeding like a mother fuck!
I quickly wrapped it in paper towels and masking tape, but the whole bandage turned red in a few minutes, and I had to replace it. My parents were getting emotional and freaking out. They wanted to go with me to the Urgent Care, but I told them to stay home and chill. I spent and hour and a half waiting to be seen. One of the people there added another bandage on top of the one I already had on, just because of the blood that was starting to come out of the one I had on.
They finally put me in a room, and I was sitting with my hand on a table for a while, till a doctor finally came in and cut the bandage off. He cleaned the wound, and then pulled out a syringe with a like two inch long needle. He stuck it under my skin and just started moving it all over the place. That was not pleasant! Normally in the past I'd look away when doctors stick me with a needle out of habit. But I just don't seem to care anymore. It's weird looking at it though.
I got three stitches, and a Tetanus shot that they told me would make my arm sore for a couple of days. It was the fastest Tetanus shot I'd ever seen. The guy just stuck my arm with it, and it was out as fast as it was in. Right now I can't even move my arm a certain way, or I get shooting pain down my wrist. So I'm gonna have yet another delay on drawing. It hurts just to type.
