I'm American, so I don't want to be too presumptuous. While I try to stay informed (and have kept a particular loose eyes on the Baltics post-2022). I haven't noticed any alarming news from there (largely meet ups between Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian leaders). Granted, I only have English sources. As I know absolutely no Lithuanian or Latvian, and my Estonian and Russian are on "babbling infant" levels.
All this to say, whether you should leave, and where you should go will depend heavily on *what* exactly is going on and your exact concerns.
I can't offer a ton, but if you need to talk about it, I'd be happy to listen. I've brothers in the military, so if it's militarily-politically based I do have that extra source. I don't mind being a soundboard if it'll help.
I hope this rough time can be sorted as painlessly as possible.
For what it's worth Lithuania has an official alliance with the US.
Ukraine doesn't, the US has largely been on good terms with Ukraine Post-Soviet union, and has sometimes assisted, but there is no political-legal-what-have-you alliance between the US and Ukraine. So when Ukraine was attacked, solely on paper, politically, the US has no
Please keep in mind, this is speaking strictly on official alliances and obligations related on the world stage. What folks think should be done, morally speaking is a completely different matter
This all matters because an alliance means there is an obligation, if the US goes to war, Lithuania has an obligation to assist, but that also means if Lithuania goes to war or needs assistance the US is also obligated.
Now whether or not you think Trump would uphold that alliance or not is a different matter entirely. From my perspective, as an American, there's more lost than gained from breaking an alliance.
Especially with an ally nation that has a history and such with Russia (where, as much as it sucks, egos are involved when it comes to the US and Russia, which means things have to be much more strategic).
With a set alliance, Lithuania won't end up in the same situation Ukraine is in.
Things such as expectations of each party are laid out when the alliance is made, so any expectations from the Lithuanian government (and vice-versa) when the alliance was formed.
The situation with Ukraine is a completely different beast than it would be if Russia went after many other nations that were former Soviet states.
It's worth noting Lithuania is also a NATO member(not getting into themess that is NATO and its flaws, many, many flaws), which means, any action against any of the Baltic Nations by Russia, means all other NATO nations are, de facto, involved.
I don't know if any of this is reassuring, all I can hope is it doesn't make things worse. Things are scary, and I'm not saying don't be scared, because I can't imagine being in your (and many others) situation(s). All I can definitively say is "Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.
Given the situation, it seems Norway has a stronger military, and has many of the same alliances.
So depending on your anxiety levels, it may be better for your personal peace of mind. Though, based solely off the Russia-Ukraine situation, I think Lithuania should remain safe.
Long and short of it there's more for Russia to lose than gain making any moves there (and there have been many factors added or amended to the US alliance that weren't there in 1940). If Russia, for whatever reason does, the US does have obligations to Lithuania, it doesn't to Ukraine, and that it didn't to Lithuania in 1940.
