Week 52

TLDR: I’ve been drawing on FA for a year! There is a quick discussion of things I’ve done, and things I’d like to do in the coming year, as well as a list of people I’d especially like to thank for their help/inspiration as Ive come more fully into the fandom instead of just watching from the outside as I had been doing, then also a list of some artists whose work I especially enjoy and recommend since I’ve been watching them a while or even gotten commissions from in some cases.
Week 52!
Oh my goodness it’s finally here! This is the week which holds the first anniversary of this drawing thing I’ve been doing on FA!
Even after the first month of doing the daily drawings it had been the longest stint of drawing I had ever done. This is just…. unbelievable to me really. The whole journey so far has seemed surreal in a good way. While I wish I had started this earlier, starting when I did has allowed me to meet, online and in at least one case in person, some really cool people who I might not if I had not started this back in April when I began, or had not allowed myself to be talked into trying the Art or Treat even though I really felt like I didn’t have much of anything to offer other artists in trade for that sort of event. Now I’m looking towards art fight and contemplating doing that in this coming year.
Besides the art, I also attended my first two cons between last april and this one. A step I NEVER thought I’d take, or told myself I would do… and then kept putting off till maybe next year. Then maybe next year. Well this year I did it! I feel like that experience will only get better the more people I meet and groups I get involved with. My goal by next October is to have a better mask to show my ducky side with and quack around. I love my good old Carnival mask, but maybe move from Italy to Switzerland and do something more Fasnacht like so it will cover more of the head. See how well my home arts and crafts can get things done.
There are a few people I would like to thank for their support in helping me get started here and continuing to comment, help me improve, and inspire me in my drawing.
While this is a list of folks who have inspired/helped me in this first year, if you want me to take you off of it just let me know. My intention isn’t to name drop, it’s just to thank folks who have been there.
helixthefallen The storyteller that taught me the ropes of the FA interface and writes awesome stories as well as poetry. Well worth the read and time checking them out. Also great treatise on writing in his journals/posts and even some help on correcting at least one of the short stories I wrote. Once again, well worth the read so you don’t fall into the same writing traps I do and be forever haunted by the ghosts of writers past. OOOOOooooOOH!
theonelump who is a steady muse and gets alot of gift art from me because I find Bob soooo drawable. I swear, the tiger is so fluffy and with a tail that is perfectly sized to be somehow enormous, and yet not drag on the ground. Crazy facts. Apparently the price of his tail being so perfect was at the cost of dice luck though. We’ll have to get him some casino dice as a gift at some point.
ace who has had wonderful references and advice for me on drawings, and who I hope will have some new drawings in their gallery someday soon maybe if they feel like it because I love the style I see in their gallery so much and it’s well worth a run on sentence in order to make sure they know how much I’d love to see them draw things. <takes a breath.>
Alphasempaiwolviesyxx who I talk to on discord almost daily and who is responsible for what will be a return to some body part sketching this week, namely paws which they ran a tutorial for yesterday that I was the only one who attended which is a shame because there was so much information and also whose art is worth taking a look at and definitely worthy of a sentence that doesn’t end when it should have <breathes> I also have commissioned a few pieces from them and am subscribed to their patreon to get a monthly doodle that makes me always look SOOOO adorable.
Ihza Who hipped me into the telegram app, which has allowed me to connect with quite a few different communities related to topics that I enjoy, and who also has some amazing looking bird characters. <peeks at them> Look at them rocking out on their bass… so cool. The artists that draw for them are awesome, and the art is well worth checking out on their page as well as following onto the artists that did the work.
So that’s the thank you for the people I feel like I’ve talked to the most this year. There are other artists/friends I recommend following who I have met in person or talked to, but in much less consistent a fashion as the folks above.
fauxfowl has such a cool style. There’s a reason their art is my user profile pic. I have two pieces from them and an idea for a third, but we’ll have to see how the year goes for me to get the third idea done.
JLBriere Their art just makes me smile whenever I see something posted. I love their colors, their style, I love it all. The fact that they have also drawn characters in star trek uniforms doesn’t hurt either.
TalesofAkadia I love this comic. I mean, I love transformation themes and dragons are awesome, so the theme/setting really speaks to me.
bat96 is someone I love to see post. The color and characters hit me in a way that I can’t quite define. I hope they keep drawing for a long time
I have a decently sized watch list, and there’s a reason for everyone to be on it, but these are some of my additional favorites I’ve gathered over the year.
This year in review for the duck needs to be wrapped up though. Thank you to those who watch, fave, comment, and view. You are the ones that keep me going, especially the ones I took time to mention above who inspire or help me to keep improving my art.
Sincerely,
Trellian Duck

Glad I could help in any way, shape or form. Yes, I need to get back into art myself instead of being that pathetic washed-out old has-been that just coaches everyone else. Y'know, like that 'mentor' type that every combat sport movie has? Dun wanna be that guy.
I'm so glad that I could inspire you and keep you company, You're a good duck, and I'm glad I've had the opportunity to get to know you!
Looking forward seeing your art continue to improve and evolve, and to drawing many ducks in the future!
