Blender rigging help please

I am trying to rig my pig, but I keep running into issues with weight painting. I will have the bones all set up, and whether I do automatic or try to do it manually, I will get the left side painting okay, but the right side will seem to effect the same parts.
For example, I set up for automatic weights, and on the left foot, things looked fine. When I switched over to the right, half the right foot was painted, but the other half on the left foot was painted. If I fix it on the right foot, then the left foot is messed up that same way.
Can someone please help me out with this?

Since bones and vertex groups are directly related, that might be what's causing your issue.
