Tag your art uploads by species

Gentlemens, Wimmenz and DeathToasters,
now that FA has yeeted the gender dropdown into orbit and thus removed this useful filter from the Browse mode, we have to rely on the Search to find submissions with the gender or genitals + species we're into or risk retinal detachment and blindness.
But. Since we all use the dropdown to specify the species, often this results in no species existing as actual tag. Because why do that twice, right?
This then makes your upload invisible in the search results tho.
So remember to write that into the tags from now on.
And I guess we can stop using the dropdowns entirely. :Tc
Anyway I think my submissions should be good to go.. looking all the way back into 2009, I did write the species into the tags out of habit. AH HAHAHHAHA I AM A PROPHET-DEX, build me a CHURCH ALREADY

Aha. Took them a day to decide to revert it and implement a better workaround as per their last journal.
Still, doesn't hurt to tag things comprehensively. :>

That and just habits from the fact that any time I searched for anything, I only ever clicked the 'Search by popularity' button and typed my keywords.
Though the species dropdown is still there so enjoy it while you can!

I mean it would only make sense to nuke the species dropdown, aye. It has gotten ridiculously bloated with species that are never used, or others that are duplicates of each other.
NOTE: Doesnt work if the poster is dyslexic and can't spell worth a damn

For everything else, made a userscript that adds a blacklist button to accounts so I never have to see anything from accounts that just post ychs with 100 irrelevant tags clogging the search and browse pages
Although I don't know if it would be; "if you have less then three tags you will get in trouble we see it/it gets reported" or "you need three tags to even be aloud to submit it".
People not tagging their things properly (or at all) is a problem everywhere though sadly.

Luckily as far as I remember I always include the species and gender in my tags.

People can then just do a search for "male -female" if they don't want any females with a male in the pic.
but nah - cut out all the stuff. now i gotta rely on search, no way to block certain artists/people i fucking hate from it and people to properly tag their shit so i don't see another degenerative rancid niche shit

Apparently it's recently gone the same way as the R word for mentally disabled people, as in at one point it was ok to call people that then others started using it as an insult/slur so now it's not ok anymore. But that's just what I could figure from the comments.
Also start requiring people to tag gender/sexuality BEFORE making major changes like that
And yes they did have Trans as well.
I would also like to point out that they didn't get rid of the drop down because of that term, they were always planning to get rid of it eventually. Just like they are planning to eventually get rid of the Species drop down as well.
They still handled it badly regardless of that but the changes they announced today to fix it look promising

At least they added the tag that was previously set in the "gender"-dropdown as a normal tag to a lot of uploads on here (at least according to the latest news).
Personally it helps me more since I barely use the "Browse" function anyways, as I already got used to the Search function filtering out (most) stuff I don't wanna see via autocompletion with a lot of "-" tags lol
(Footnote: People PLEASE tag your uploads correctly and with more than like 2 tags pretty please 🙏I wanna find my smut without just randomly stumbling across it)
Drama/issues over the FA tagging/browsing/search? Man, some things never change.
