My mother was the victim of a terrible scam at the beginning of this month. She only wanted to help with our household finances and tried one of those websites that claim to give you a loan you can pay back later in small amounts. But this one was different, they asked for our bank account details. Trusting them, and at 82 years old, she innocently gave the information. The result is devastating: our account has been completely emptied for the rest of the month.

We went to the police, hoping they could recover something, but since it was my mother herself who entered the details, they can’t take action. The bank also said they can’t do anything.
