Furthemore 2026
I am pondering doing my holography panel again at the next Furthemore.
The current advertisement is:
Bring an interesting object about the size of your fist (holograms are life-size), and we will walk you through arranging it in the holographic apparatus, exposing a piece of film, and then developing that film to make a white light viewable hologram of your object to take home and amaze your friends with.
The fine print: This is approximately a high school level physics lab, there will be lasers, film, chemistry (not especially toxic, but it sure stains), and darkness. I would not recommend it for very young children, or people in fursuits.
It will start with going over the process, safety, and pondering what order people will be in (draw a number from a hat, trade as desired). Then it is unfortunately a lot of waiting, a hologram takes 15 minutes, with one starting every 5 minutes (3 stage pipeline), but must be done one at a time, so the 10'th person will end up waiting for 50 minutes. People can come and go as it runs, between exposures.
I am looking for a second person to help out with the processing or drying/finishing stages of the pipeline. Anyone interested?
Or, does anyone have a better idea for how to implement the queue?

Edit: yup. Conflicts with Texas Furry Fiesta (I'm on staff) and Triad Anime Con (anime convention in Winston-Salem, NC, that I usually attend).
