Life Update. Technical Issues.

TL;DR my PC died last Monday (need a new GPU).
I was working on commissions and YCHs and I lost signal to my monitors. At fist I though the PC went to sleep but I still had power on my keyboard and mouse tho none of 'em worked and long pressing the power button did nothing.
I unplugged the power supply for a few secs and the plugged it back again and tried again but the PC was completely dead.
I contacted an IT guy acquaintance and asked for help. I told him what happened, he suspected a malfunctioning power supply. He brought his to test it and after disconnecting everything and plugging his the motherboard and a few fans lit up, he then connected the GPU to see if he got any signal. When he tuned it back on there was a puff of smoke somewhere behind the processor's heatsink.
He had to take my PC back to his place to check everything one by one, long story short the GPU was the problem.
I'm in talks with a friend to see if they can help me get a new one though I'm thinking of making an emergency auction to, either pay them back or buy a new one myself.
The thing that bugs me is that I'm still working on the current one and a new commission (or rather I was) and if I make a new YCH it would take me longer that usual to finish it and I wouldn't be able to start working on it until I get the new GPU.
Any thoughts?

Your work is so damn good, there's no wait that'd be too long for it! ^w^
That's not supposed to happen, ever XD
I'm wondering if your PSU is the cause, and its power limiter failed, letting socket surges get to your PC which killed your GPU.
I'd 100% replace your PSU as well.
Also, am I still on your list? I've been on it since 2018 or something XD
The IT guy checked the PSU too, he opened it to see the condition of the capacitors and tested it with a PSU tester. It was working fine.
He also connected everything back meaning my motherboard, ram, PSU, CPU, ssd, hd, but used one of his own GPUs and everything worked fine :]
So I'm still on the waiting list right? XD
And if its the latter: Do you prefer to throw your money into the fire or do you prefer to save some?
