Getting A New Tablet

Receiving Transmission...
Okay, after checking around I haven't able to figure out what is wrong with my tablet. I suspect it might be the pen itself, but I'm not 100% certain. And getting it repaired is going to cost me a fair bit of money. So I sat around and thought about it some more and I've decided that, after 10 years, I'm going to get myself a new tablet before the Intuos konks out completely on me.
Several of the options I got are either a new Wacom tablet, perhaps an Intuos Pro again but a medium instead of a large one. But those are super expensive, up to R10000 to R15000. And with the Tax Man having buggered me over this year, I simply don't want to spend that much. Then I became aware of a brand called XP Pen, and after inquiring with a fellow South African artist
awkwardawd who uses one of their tablets, I'm strongly considering getting one myself. The prices are much more affordable (R1000 to R3000) and they seem to do the job just as well as the Wacom tablets.
I haven't finalized my decision, but I want to get a new tablet sooner rather than later so I can get my art output flowing again. I've been trying to draw with my Intuos, but the constant radial menu popups and unwanted scrolling is becoming really irritating.

Good Idea, sometimes when a device is reaching old age and no longer working, it would be a good idea to replace it so you wouldn't have to go to the shop a number of times to have it fix a lot or face the old repairman advice when something breaks down and can't be fixed anymore due to the cost of placing parts to rebuild it.

That's what I'm fearing: that I'm going to spend a lot of money fixing the old tablet, instead of using that money to help pay for a brand new one. Hence me cutting out the middle man and just going straight for the new one.

May I suggest a Huion Kamvas series? It's more of inexpensive option to Wacom. I've had mine for 4 years almost now.

I never thought of a Huion. I'll give them a look, thanks!

I've also heard a lot of good about Huion! I have one myself, but I've been out of the art game so long, I haven't really gotten to put it through its paces yet. But the artist friend who gave it to me (and who is a REALLY great artist) swears by it. Another possibility for you!

I'll definitely have a look at this type!
