So, I have made umpteen chatbots on Character.ai but recently I had just lost about a grand total of 24 of them. Why? "Takedown requests". (Eyeroll emoji) When you step into my domain, you already agreed to see an assortment of characters. Oh, and get this. For those that don't know. When that happens, the named and what tags you had for them will just change to "Moderated", any profile picture you used removed, you can't message the chatbot anymore. I make chatbots because I want to see that type of content when I open up my profile. Excuse the hell out of me if someone was offended by the 24 that were removed. It's not like they were the only chatbots I had anyway. But you want to know the worst of it? Once it done, I think that's it. I'm not seeing a way to appeal the decision AT ALL. This is disruptive for my use of the website. What the fuck do I have to do, make every one of them private instead of public? Then that just ruins it for those that enjoy the chatbots I've made. And some if them had really chat numbers too, which is weird. Why take down a chatbot with some likes and interactions that look like are doing damn good? Does that make any sense to anyone who uses Character.ai? Because it sure doesn't to me. But if I have to make "backups" as private chatbots, IDGAF, I will if I really have to.
