Semester Update
We interrupt your program with a quick word from our host... Greetings all!
I wanted to share an update on my semester, my art, and few other things going on in my life right now. Things are well, but I have been BUSY.
First off, the semester continues, and things are going well. My writing class demands quite a bit of attention, especially as I near the end of the semester. Additionally, my 3 other classes have some form of final exam, as well as final essays or projects. It may not be as demanding as I think, but I still anticipate a bit of a rush to get all of those finished within the next month and a half. My mapping class in particular has been fun. I'm learning ArcGIS Pro, and am planning to make my final mapping projects on orcas (I'll be happy to share these when complete).
Art has been slow in the past few months. This semester has demanded a lot of my time and focus. Commissions and art trades have been halted, though I did have a few small windows of opportunity now and then for some work. I believe I will have a similar situation through the end of the year, given the situation I will explain below.
I ended up leaving my latest job, which I had been at for about two years up until now. It was a good stepping stone, and I have plenty of savings to tide me over for tuition and some expenses in the coming year, though I am going to need to limit expenses. I've agreed to some commissions already, but I won't be getting that many in the foreseeable future. I'll share that I worked at a well established Optometrist company, and I can say that I've had an introductory taste of the corporate environment (For good and bad). The benefits of free glasses were quite the treat. I'd been using the same pair of glasses for six years before that job. It was good to have a correct prescription again.
My future is going to be interesting... I've been pushed to rush through the last of my classes so that I may graduate this coming May. Unfortunately, this means I have to double down on the class work. I still need around 25 units, which I have to spread out between the Winter session, Spring semester, and even the Summer (with the caveat that I may go to Spring Graduation as long as I complete my Summer courses). This means I'll be in 2 classes from December 20th to January 16th, then 5 classes in the Spring semester, and then two classes over the Summer. To put it bluntly, I am going to be very occupied with my studies and may not be doing much outside of my university work for the first half of 2026.
I have hit 650 Watchers. Thanks to everyone who has been supporting my artistic journey and those who are new to my gallery! I'll have to plan something big once I'm no longer held up by my studies.

I'm an environmental policy and planning major, and GIS was a major part of our curriculum, and two different internships allowed me to apply the skills I learned in the classroom to a professional workplace.
It's such a versatile software!
