The often unusual musings of an old cat
No secret I have the Celiac.
Last week my boss comes to me and explains that her friend's 10yr old was just diagnosed and could I suggest a bread. Why yes, yes I can. I can tell you about bread and where the prices are best. I can discuss pastas and lunch box treats. I can give the newly diagnosed almost 20 years of advice. I sent a text chain with my font of knowledge.
Boss comes back and says the mom was grateful. At the time the text chain was forwarded to her, she was actually standing in the grocery store, feeling lost.
Yesterday she told the boss that I should write up a handout package as she felt coming directly from a local, she'd trust it more.
Either way, the kid is in for a journey, it's not a diet change, it's a lifestyle change. Just hope I started his journey of a thousand miles with the right steps.

At least he won't have to go through the pain and such as you did when you were first trying to figure out what it was and how to live with it. You probably saved him a lot of that.
