A High Honor . . . .
General
I received a high honor this morning.
When you're a Veteran, like me, who has bee successfully discharged from the Domiciliary programs -- after meeting your goals, whether that means finding work, a new home, sobriety, etc. -- they give you a challenge coin on the last Town Hall meeting you attend.
Out of all the possible coins I could have gotten, this one means a lot. While it does signify my time here in the "Dom" is coming to an end, I realize that the "journey" never ends completely. While I've gotten a LOT of help during the months I've stayed here . . . I still have a lot of personal stuff to work on. Just because I'm getting into a new home, doesn't mean things will go back to the way they were before.
I have a lot to do, and things to deal with. Can't quit, and can't give up. The key thing is I had a LOT of people -- staff, nurses, case workers, etc. -- that were here to help me. I plan to keep in touch, and, to use the quote of two men I admire greatly (Walt Disney and Monty Oum) . . . I'm going to Keep Moving Forward.
Thanks again to all the Staff here at the James A. Haley Domiciliary.

That's awesome. If there's hope for you, there's hope for me.
