You have heard the news. Discord is enshittifying itself in a way that puts your investment into it at risk. Your connection to your friends at risk.
Recognize that fear, anxiety, discomfort, and other intense emotions that you feel. Not just for yourself but for your friends who you feel are at risk of losing their access to you. Your love and desire for them is as strong as their love and desire for you.
The contract you had with Discord as a platform, as a service, was little more than their promise to you to deliver your investments to your friends and bring back their reciprocation. Your friends are not the platform.

When ICQ and IRC weren't cutting it anymore, folks flocked to YIM.
Well of course Yahoo was already on its way out by then anyway, so it was off to AIM.
AOL started enshittifying AIM (who could have predicted!), so folks tried out Skype once it wasn't just about online phone calls.
Microsoft purchased Skype and bit by bit, the platform started to suck. Furs disappeared almost overnight. Farewell Skype, you always sort of sucked.
So furs went to Telegram and Discord. I never liked the siloed Discord community servers in the first place, but some folks digged it, and if that was their vibe, more power to them. Now Discord is ... it's not dead and buried, but there are some poison pills that don't work for some marginalized kink communities, of which furry is an obvious one. Maybe discord will get fixed. Likely not. The road usually leads down. The only way to really go up is to jump ship to something that was made to be already better.
Something else will arise. That's how it is.
