Life, Love, Work, and Traction

Hello Flock Members!
This week has been busy in a grounding, forward-moving way.
Work-wise, things are finally clicking. I’m comfortable cashiering, handling returns and help desk, and working garden center. Gardening is very much my lane (I sit on the board of a 501©(3) focused on gardens), so I’m genuinely excited for the garden center to open again. They’ve started having me train other people, which still feels a little surreal — but in a good way. Overall, my relationship with my managers feels steady and positive.
Life logistics hit hard this week too. I’ve had to dip pretty deeply into my school funds — about $1,500 — mostly due to putting tires on both of my cars. One’s my daily driver, the other’s the van that fits all my kids. They’re both older vehicles, and the van especially needed immediate work: a wheel bearing was failing and the traction was awful. It was genuinely scary to drive. Necessary fixes, but oof.
Art has been happening quietly in the background. I’ve been busy with a trade, a coffee goose drawing, and some traditional work, so I haven’t posted anything brand new yet. That said, I have been slowly uploading my older art to Scraps, digging up pieces from when I was around 14 and onward. It’s been oddly emotional seeing how long I’ve been doing this — and how much I’ve changed.
On the personal side, I reconnected with a longtime friend (formerly Nennanomo on here). We’ve been friends since high school, and finding our way back to each other has been really grounding. I adore them.
And something I don’t talk about much on FA: my partner. We have been together a few years now and I'd like to propose to them, I have a good idea of how and I'm excited. If they say yes we would get hand fasted. ❤️
