Hello Flock Members!
I’ve been quiet, but I’m still here.
I haven’t posted much. That doesn’t mean I disappeared.
This week at work I got a raise. I had to take a test, and my managers had to write out my strengths on paper. They noted that I’m efficient on register and that my tills consistently come back the most accurate. That made me quietly proud. I care about precision. I care about doing things correctly. They also trusted me to train new employees for the first time, and my manager said I excelled at it. That felt steady. Like I’m moving in the right direction.
I did have to cut deeply into my school fund for tires on both vehicles. And of course, once you fix one thing, more shows up. I’m currently paycheck to paycheck handling repairs — ignition coil and spark plug (being fixed today), exhaust manifold still waiting. It weighs on me. I don’t like instability. But I’m handling it.
I’m genuinely looking forward to going back to garden center soon.
I’ve been working on a trade. The character isn’t a species I draw often, so I’m taking my time with the shading and the background. I don’t want to rush it. I want it done well.
I’ve also been doing more traditional pieces.
And I’m still uploading old art into my Scraps. There is an overwhelming amount of it. Years of it.
If you’ve been looking through those uploads,
I’d actually like to know:
What era do you like most?
Is there something in my older style that stood out?
If there’s something you miss, tell me. I might bring it back.
I’m thinking about opening commissions.
Would anyone be interested in a traditional piece? We could figure out shipping if needed.
I’m also considering doing a short drawing challenge — maybe a one-week commitment just to build momentum. If you have suggestions, I’m listening.
What would you want to see from me right now?
