On March 5, 2008, I took a graphic of a werewolf and edited it in Adobe Illustrator to have orange fur and long red hair. I called this my new character, my first and only fursona, "Wolf Nanaki."

I had been using the name "Nanaki" online for a long time, but on that day, that name came to mean something more. It was my first step into the furry fandom, and onto a long road of self-discovery. It's thanks to Nanaki that I found other queer people, realized I'm trans, and formed so many friendships with truly wonderful people.

I'm so grateful for everyone I've met since that day, that's stuck by me through my worst moments, who helped me on my transition journey, every artist whose own art direction helped shape and change Wolf Nanaki into who she is now.

For a long time, I've struggled to come up with Nanaki's "lore." I've always wanted to tell a story with her, but didn't know what. But these past few years have given me the spark of imagination I was looking for.

I've been quietly working on a visual novel that showcases Nanaki's story, the events that shaped her, what she believes, what she's done, who's been part of her life... Coming up with this new story has been so exciting for me, and I can't wait for the day that I get to share it with you all.
