Sigh... Nothing new yet again... Really hoping this year doesn't turn out like the last, makes me all isolated and non-talkative.
When the temperature and humidity is low enough (damn I hate these hotter summers) I have been trying to learn from scratch what I have been doing wrong all these years art-wise... and it's been quite a few "wrong" ways I have.
Primary one was how I colored ink lines...
Usually one has a single ink layer with it's transparency locked, which is then colored with a brush.
But I was having a layer for each seperate color line, each placed above or below depending on it's depth in relation to others.
At the time I thought it was making things easier as I could then change each line's color, but when you pass 300+ layers, (most of it inks) then it's obviously only making things worse.
Did discover a group folder can have it's own mask, maybe that should be a better way to color a single ink layer.
Was also hoping to ditch the path tool it in favor of using the tablet like everyone else does, but discovered my PS-CS3 on a Vista x64 has the nasty "Jaggy lines" bug. o.o;
So rather than using the tablet's resolution like it's supposed to, it'll downgrade and use the monitor's instead.
Zooming in at 200% or higher seems a workaround but not really practical, anything on or under 100% and it's messy stair-lines... yes even with a ruler. >_<
I know it's not my tablet or it's drivers, also can rule out Vista as even GIMP behaves correctly.
Does seem to be a Photoshop issue, probably would have not gotten it if i knew it had this... lot of time wasted trying to fix this "$1,000 pain in the ass" with no luck. -_-
Adobe supposedly has a patch available that some are saying fixes it, but they want me to pay $600NZ to find out if it works or not? O_O;

O.O: I still don't fully understand using layer so much! VvV I haven't learn jack one of any new software from last year!! >v< ....
O.o You paid $1,000 to get Photoshop fix and it still don't work! I would be asking for my money back if I was you! And now you have to pay $600 to try something that might not work!
^v^: Don't they have like any trial software for you to try it before you buy it?
There should be somewhere on there website that let you try there stuff for 30 days trial free. That way way you can tell if you need it or not!
^v^ I hope thing better for you take care! ^v^
You soo really need a second hard disk to use as a backup, got a 500GB myself for about $150.
So dirt-cheap these days you'd be foolish not to have one "when" the computer crashes. (hmm, reminds me to do an overdue backup) ^_-
$70 sounds like a good bargain find, now that's very crazy your not using it to churn out more arts. (admiring the box like I do sometimes?) ^.^
What you do already know seems to work out wonderfully so there's no rush to learn yet, though just be sure you don't learn about them the "wrong" way. X3
They do have trial softwares to test out but all those are just too big for dial-up to get, so there was no way I was able to do any trials of it first. -_-
So at the time it seemed a good chance to take, since that's what all the pros were using anyhow I thought.
Oh well, that's Adobe's "wonderful" pricing policy for you.
Such things bought without trials can't be returned, so i'll just wait for a cheaper upgrade version to pop up.
Actually was eyeing up Paint Tool SAI which is a better dream and cheap, just wish I had a PayPal accout and had gotten that first. ^^;
Thanks and take care as well, hope you have more fun with your drawing software than me. -hugs- ^_^
>v> Well unless I for get about it! Heeeehe!
It's a very great lifesaver! Cause I'm not able to pay $800.00 for Corel Draw 4X! VvV I got bills to pay! Heeehe! ^v^ But if I had that kind money yep I wouldn't still get it! Heeehe! ^v^
Yep it's working great... But I feel like I could do better! ^vO Mostly my line work need improving to me mostly! ^v^
O.O You mean to tell me you still got dial-up? Wow! O.O Your the 20 person I know who still got Dial-up! ^v^ I high-speed it's always connected and on even when I'm not using it! .......V-V; Sad really! I'm think about going back to Dial-up!
Hummm for dial-up we use to have a downloader program to help down load thing that was huge much faster!
I thought tha same thing after finding out tooo untill I say tha price..........Scared tha hell out of me! OwO Heeehe!
Untill I found out some of them use Paint Tool SAI and Gimp Which are mostly free! But Gimp just gave me hell! But I liked Paint Tool SAI better! ^v^ Much easy to use! Heeehe!
^v^ Heeehe! I thinking about making a paypal account! Cause lots of people want me to start doing comissions for them! But I don't full understand how comissions work fully! Maybe I won't do it! ^v^ And just keep things tha way they are!
Heeeeehe! ^v^ *Big hug!* Thank you very much!
Sadly I don't have $400 a month for broadband, not that it's available where I live here anyhow.
Sure there are starter $70-80 plans, but they only give 3GB or less a month data cap... smaller than what little 56k can get. ^^;
Downloader program? Yes I do have FlashGet (loves it soo much) as my download manager, needed to view any artwork on here. (no joke, lots of "network unavailable" time-outs) >.<
Course I only have 150 hours per month to play with, so can't leave it on all the time.
As long you can do it free-hand that's a huge bonus, still stuck with the pen tool for me. -shrug- well... least it's the smoothest lines possible that way I suppose. ^^
Oh my old beloved GIMP program, so much potential not being used. May go back to it if they improve it one day, and yes it was kinda hell but it was all I had so I lived with it. -giggles- :P
If you did have paypal, i'm certain you would be able to earn some extra money easily. ^_-
*Fall out of chair* O.O Where in tha world do they charge $400 a month for internet! Are you on island? ^v^ That would explain $400 dollor a month! ^v^ Heeehe
I use to have a downloader with monkey on it! ^v^ I hated that monkey! But I loved how fast it was! ^v^ Heeehe!
Well with my internet on all tha time it's easier to get viris in my computer easy! So I had to install McAfree to protect my computer even more! I was much better with dial-up! Heeehe! ^v^
I still like Gimp! But when they made Gimp2 it drove me nuts! I like first version better then second! They did upgraded it alot! And yes it's still free! Heeehe!
^v^ I might be tha only person to say this every! I really don't care about money! ^v^ Heeeehe! Only Time when I do care about money is when it's time to pay bills!
^v^ Heeeehe! Take care! ^v^ Heeehe!
