Student Film Idea
I have to do another student film this year
I just thought of something, what if there was a "spaghetti western", but modern and taking place in the "boondocks" or something similar. Something kind of ironic like... what I can only describe as a redneck western.
Maybe something that takes elements from slasher films in this setting like "The Hills Have Eyes" or "The Devil's Rejects" . But sort of made into this self-contained world something like a western can take place in... maybe.
The idea is just too out there no to attempt, from what I've seen there are already "horror westerns" out there, but they usually look tounge-and-cheek and use the "monster" aspect of horror movies, never using the "slasher", "grindhouse" or "gorn" aspect of horror movies in something like this. And since backwoods and small town locations are fequently used for those kind of movies it would be kind of fun to make a movie that explores that kind of setting-genre mix.

Art.
I remember seeing a clip from one that was just one agonizingly long pan outward from an old prairie windmill, but it kept from being tedious because it built tension so perfectly.
