right, especially if it is just running on the "Nazis bad, there this is bad" train of thought.

Interesting historical fact is if you remove the xenophobia and mysticism of the Nazi's, you have pretty much an ideal society (there was even a Star Trek TOS episode on this: http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Pat....._%28episode%29 )

well, even just the xenophobia... the xenophobic part made them infamous, the mysticism made them wacky enough that they live on in fiction. The aspect of it I give caution to is the fascist ideology, the whole strong triumphing over the week thing. That part scares me because there's where it becomes easy to marginalize another group of people, then attempt to eliminate them.

I consider that part of the xenophobia.

Scary thing is quite a few EU countries have strong fascist parties in the running!

Let's not forget the racism, the discrimination based on physical defects, the totalitarianism, the injustice of their legal system, the aggressive politics and their abuse of their own people.

Racism I would concede if it weren't for the mythical approach they used (so it's not the supposed inferiority of others, but the perceived superiority of their own race that drives them), aggressive politics were more or less inherent in the system and not directly caused by their xenophobia.
