So, some of you might know what I do...

But a lot of other people probably don't have a clue
I have finally given myself a title. One of those "official but not official" titles that come with various jobs, the sort that helps explain what you are capable of producing on a level where it earns you a living.
To put it in simplistic terms... I am a Pixelist.
A Pixelist, is one who paints with pixels, edits pixels, works with pixels... on the itty bitty scale - all the way up to the massively huge scale. That's me. You mean, that is too broad for you? Alright, I can give you some examples of things I've done.
I've always taken images since way back when the intartoobz was new and there was no clogging going on... and edit them. Oh I have probably edited just about any kind of image for any kind of purpose online - for online regurge projects I've worked on. Websites, Forums, dabbling in the databases for those forums, changing the graphics, changing the display, tables, learning how to do tables, and nested tables from viewing and editing, tweaking like a madman type of work - learning the basics of how coding works for webpages from the verybasic HTML - which I still mainly write from scratch in editpad (Which I found, a little easier to work with than that fancy program everyone drools over, something to do with dreams.) At any rate, I have also edited artworks to work for roleplay characters, not to steal work but to give an impression of what the character MIGHT look like. I am a fairly good writer in this medium although I will admit - most people I know now.... have no idea. I don't RP In SL - mainly because I feel very limited. Where I feel unimited.. is in the open darkness of plain text - where it feels pitch black unless I write something into being, like a velvet canvas waiting for the oil paints to be spread across it like wildfire.
Back to being a pixelist, which also covers the realm of writing. Afterall - I am writing here, with pixels.. :D Now... take those years of experience, and apply them to an Engraving position I held for a number of years. I used to work on an air force base - explaining to people why they could not hande me a .75 inch printed out logo - to engrave it 3 inches wide on something. Now, I've always been good at displaying stuff - such as for windows or arrangements etc well in this job I was able to practice the art of arranging text against shapes like Logos, or images - and utilizing and honing my skills for white space and breathing room. - on with more graphics work and laying out images for sublimation processes, and another engraving job a few years later.
I've done this type of work since roughly 1996 when I first got my own computer - and began losing sleep to being online where I felt my soul soar and I beileve it was the first time, I was able to truly feel myself... where it was me - and my creativity. Now, I'm finishing up my 2yr in Digital Media - and I've learned some new tricks, added some programs to my arsenal - and I'm looking at needing another boost of about 600 bucks worth of programs I feel like I can't live without. Now, I'm able to start refining my photography and the post processing that images take and I've been having a blast.
I'm able to touch many realms of 'graphic design' so freely now - and while I may not be a master at any one thing - I'm very skilled in a vast area of things. And hey! I can even control a laser to burn something nifty into stuff if given the right equipment... anyone wanna buy me a 20 thousand dollar laser!? :D Cause I would SO totally have one if I had the cash to blow !!! I can get a desktop unit for 10K easy if 20K is out of your range. ;)
At any rate... I'm going to begin charging going rates for my skills for everything I do soon - and I came across this website. This is the entire reason for this post - and a lot of people think in SL that things should only cost 50 Linden or less. Well the linden dollar doesn't equal a real life dollar - but you guys and me included, get into this mentality when we're out shopping... "600 Linden!?!?!?! That's OUTRAGEOUS!
Or when people ask you to do something for them for free - now there is real need for "on the cheap' solutions to big costly problems but at the same time.... - well. You will see. If you've ever been a creator - or someone who's asked a creator to do something for you for free - because... they know you and should do it for free or nearly free - You'll benefit from this. :)
