So there was a shooting yesterday. I was listening to the local progressive talk show and the anti-gun nuts came out of the woodwork like crazy...
Seriously folks....
NO AMOUNT OF GUN CONTROL WOULD STOP THIS.
Stuff like this is much deeper than banning guns, so you anti-gun people QUIT TRYING IT.
This man had a history of violence, and could not own a gun himself. He stole that rifle from his uncle he lived with.
AND QUIT COMPARING IT TO COLUMBINE for chrissakes. This is completely different. This was a lone (apparently mentally unstable person with a criminal history) who fired, as far as I can tell, from the OUTSIDE of the school. As opposed to two psychopaths who PLANNED and EXECUTED an assault inside a school and ate their own bullets because they were useless dregs of humanity.
And the Math teacher, Dr. David Benke? Fucking hero. Period. What he did was selfless (and well calculated, because a hunting rifle is pretty much useless at short range, so while he still put his life at risk, it was not a STUPID risk) And while I doubt anyone here will disagree, if you do? Your a damned moron who should castrate yourself as to not spread your stupidity genes further in our gene pool.
Probably more well thought out journal post later.
And my wishes are for Regan and Matt, I hope your recovery is swift and as painless as possible.

Children like violent games because they LIKE VIOLENCE... not vice versa.
Taking away the right to have a gun won't stop them from wanting to kill people, but changing people to not want to kill eachother is imposible, so the anti-gun nuts try taking the guns away instead.
I agree with you fully. Gun laws wouldn't stop an attack. It's not like he was lugging automatic SMG's or assault riffles and pipe bombs either; it was a hunting rifle.
The teacher : Definatly a bit crazy to do it, but a worthy risk. and fortunatly, it paid off. People rarely remember the man who charges a gunman and fails.
