Xbox DIED

Ok well i booted my Xbox up last night when i got home, expecting to play "the Darkness" which, after reading the compilation of the first 10 or so comics, i decided to try the game.
Booted it up and.... E74.....
GAAAAAHHHH *pulls hair* 3 weeks without my Xbox360. They did swear up and down the replacement (if they cannot fix it) will be an Halo 3 Edition outside at the least. (which is what mine was). I thought I had dodged the bullet getting one of the non-elites with HDMI (the Revision A of the 90NM Chipset Motherboards. with the better heatsinks and such) but doesn't look like it.
First Time i had a console die on me....Ok I lie, I had a PS1 and PS2 Die on me.

Yeah, I've been there. I got lucky, though, and it happened to coincide with a time when I'd be away from my console for a few weeks anyway, so I didn't lost any playtime.

Only ever had a NES partially die, a Playstation, and teo 360's (got a refund after the second was DOTB)

Ive been fixing mine by putting new compound on the CPUs and using the "penny trick" (wrapping 2 pennies in electric tape then placing them on the RAM chips with a little compound) it worked but now it keeps overheating, I think I need a new fan and/or heat sinks. E74 seems easy to fix, not sure if M$ can fix it for free. F-ing company wouldn't fix mined cause apparently once it red rings the warranty done for.

E74 is covered under the RROd three year warranty, except you broke your seal...

I broke mine because mine wasnt covered in the 3 yr warrenty which is stupid -_-, I even asked M$ themselves and since mine is 1st generation it was only covered a year

noo. Someone told you wrong. the STANDARD warranty is 1 year for everything but the RROD and E74. First gens are not excluded becuase they are the ones with the biggest problem

erf, well I got tired of arguing with them, I even went to their website to check to see if I can get it fixed, they said the warranty expired and I need to fork over $100 x.X And thats to fix RRoD

Ouch. I still have yet to have that happen to me x.=.x I think it's because I keep a very cool environment and run a HEPA filter next to my consoles XD
