Quitting smoking from....NOW
And I bloody well mean it to.
I've smoked since I was about 15/16 and I am 23 in June, so the best part of a decade really - too long. I'm sick of chest pain, being out of breath, my lungs feeling horrible and my clothes smelling of stale cigarette smoke.
I don't think the financial negatives I need touch upon.
It's going to be rather difficult...it's been routine for so long. At college, down the pub, in the garden. I've no idea what I will replace it with.
Support would be very appreciated; any words of wisdom and whatnot. Especially if there's any successful quitters out there.
Wish me luck.
Not looking forward to the next few days but this it. Yeah..yeah...attempt no. 364763. But this is different : (

Some people try gum to replace the oral fixation. I know my uncle would carry around an unsharpened pencil and every now and then would take it out and stick it between his lips like a cig. I'm sure if you sat back and thought about it you could come up with a similar idea if that might help.
*hugs*
Now sing some meeps, sweet foxeh. *tummeh rubbz*
I've read some stuff about chewing gum and the like...I think it'll be the first thing I'll try. Someone mentioned keeping just one ciggerette in my pocket and puffing on it when I want one but without actually lighting it...it sounds awesome, but wayyyy too tempting. I will try something else instead....hmmm....whatever would suffice? *Grins*
Cheers xD
*tummeh rubbzesez morez*
Thank you : )
Haven't had one since Saturday now. Baby steps but it's still an achievement for me; I've smoked every single day for the past 8 years.
Thanks for the encouragement :3
*Nuzzles you a baskit wif cookiez in, butterflai and meepflower on top*
I think without the attitude, the effort is meaningless; which renders any action whatsoever 100x harder than it should be or is for most people.
I hope he finds a good enough reason to quit.
been there b4,
nips*
Thanks for the support. To be honest, I did plan on going cold turkey but it didn't happen. I've been out and smoked since writing this so I've been somewhat unfaithful. But what's important is that the drive is still there, I really do want to get off of these bloody things, especially as an asthmatic. You seem to be doing well, I hope you manage to maintain : )
*Hugs*
Well, I haven't ever smoked, and probably never will, but a pencil looks like a good method too. A pen would be okay too, just watch that the ink wouldn't get out of it if you suck on it too hard. o..o
...Or bite your nails. x3 Daily calcium doses.
Just some random advice from a complete random stranger passing by. <3
Although, I fail to see how smoking weed instead of ciggs would actually help with anything personally! I haven't touched that stuff for over a year now.
I'm doing really well with it though, so far! :3
...I don't think you get stoned of that... Right? Riiiight?
No not a bad idea! I'd certainly think twice about inhaling plant fumes! xD
