I'm NOT off to jail...
My deepest apologies if I worried anybody too much and so needlessly...
I was only going off what the arresting officer and my solicitor had conferred to me. But lo, after all that hype, they give me an extended caution.
A freaking caution
I was so furious I nearly refused it. My solicitor was pretty pissed off as well. Apparently, despite me being physically caught with it, there wasn't enough 'evidence' to send me to court. WTF?
Whatever.
I'm glad to be back home.
Again, I am sorry for the hoo-ha, I did genuinely believe I was fucked.

I hope your friend doesn't get stuck up for snitching!
I've almost been arrested twice; once for busting out a window, another for 'attempting to avoid a drunk driving checkpoint'. Obviously I got out of trouble, but the process still isn't fun. Any rate, glad you're alright mate.
To be honest prison cells in the UK are anything but cold and dark. Prison here is a walk in park as long as you keep your head down and don't try and act hard. I wasn't really worried about going inside per se, but the affect it may have on my university studies.
Thankfully I can now tell Warwick to enroll me for my 3rd year : )
I might have been stereotyping jail a bit... but I'm sure it isn't pleasant, or else that would rather defeat the purpose of jail. Any rate, it's good that it won't be damaging your records.
*Hugs*
Talk to ya later Foxy.

No it wasn't a pleasant experience.
And I will try my best xD
I obviously didn't question their decision to set me free but...if you're caught red-handed with a controlled substance what more evidence could there possibly be???
Not like I'm saying you deserved to go to jail or anything, considering I have no idea what happened, but you know something is wrong when you can sue companies for millions and millions of dollars because they didn't warn you that the the hot cup of coffee was hot.
Or that Microwaves are no intended to dry off pets or children. The list of retarded millionaires can go on.
It also took some stupid cops 3 days to come and investigate a domestic violence case where my neighbor almost stabbed her dad with a broken chair leg. I guess a lot of people were speeding on the way there or something, they definitely have their priorities straight.
UK can be pretty stupid. I think it's biggest problem is inconsistency in sentences. Someone 'threatens' to kill someone else, they might land 2 years in prison, whereas a rapist, convicted and guilty, may very well escape with a community order or a significantly lesser sentence in comparison.
Doesn't make much sense to me.
To expect perfection is folly; there will always be things that slip through the net regardless of how dedicated a police force you have, but failing to notice incidents as big as this are relatively unforgivable
"Let's just give a high sentence to petty crime, and let the bigger stuff slide, as long as the public doesn't notice." That's exactly what happens. You know something is wrong if even they're giving in to "What they don't know won't hurt them."
I wasn't mad that I wasn't going to jail! I was just pissed off that I'd been messed about by the police, being told this and that, about how I'm going into remand etc...
Was it just some sort of scare tactic? If it was it was pathetically low and didn't really work.
Possession of a controlled substance, the substance being Mephedrone.
