Hate & Homophobia

I wish I could fully understand why homosexuals are hated by people so very much. http://www.kcrg.com/news/local/Grou.....omment91307383 The level of hate on this subject is beyond acceptable in this day and age. They claim it is immoral and wrong for gays to be gay, yet when asked directly why they feel that way, the spout nonsense and attempt reasoning stating that we're a threat to them. Yet again they will not explain this "threat" we pose to them.
I sit here, waiting for my boyfriend to get home. We have discussed it and someday we will marry, Iowa happens to be one of the few states to grant equal rights under the constitution to all. It is amazing to me that so many do not understand the simple aspect of the gay marriage situation.... It states in the constitution that all will be granted equal rights, and that the majority can NOT infringe on the rights of a minority.. Yet some how, some way, they view this is a lie and turn to stating it is not about equal rights. Yes, yes it is.
On the discussion that came up on that sight... *sigh* It was stated that it was my choice to be.. well, how I am, gay. It was not, I lied to myself for years on end, wondering why I was different and why I couldn't be as some of my straight friends were.
People against gay marriage claim that we gays are "shoving our lifestyles down their throats"... Isn't that what a straight person does every single time they say "We are allowed to do this and that and you are not"? Not one person could or would tell me why they have so much hate for us... It is sad that they can justify their hatred and intolerance so easily in their minds. It is sad how they can raise themselves above us common folks and deem themselves worth of deciding weather or not we are second class citizens or not.

Because they hate on what they don't understand, what's different, and what they think is strange. It's because they are afraid. Afraid of what could threaten on what they view on "normal" life.
People dont understand that a gay guy can be as normal as a straight guy in almost every way other then bedroom preferences. I'm gay but all my hobbies and everything else scream that im straight, none of my non-furry friends (that think im straight) have a clue, they would shit themselves and think id be joking if id tell them I was gay.... Its just how it is.
Cant arrest someone for hate, that's just a freedom of expression that everyone has until a crime has been committed- thus a hate crime :p
Btw, How have you been Granite? Hitting MFF this year?
