So this previous season has ended, and I got to see the live show in Los Angeles of the top 10 performers. What a show it was. For only 60 bucks, you get nice seats in the Nokia Theater at LA Live. You see 10 performances, hosted by Jerry Springer.
Prince Poppycock and Jackie Evancho were amazing as always, as was Fighting Gravity. I'm still annoyed that Michael Grimm won. He has a nice voice, sure. But at best he's a restaurant performer. He can sing, and he can play but he can't put on a SHOW.
I was also very moved by a brief speech given by Prince Poppycock. I wish I had recorded it, but the gist was about acceptance, especially in light of the recent teen suicides. He compared life to rainbows and parties. Things that need to be appreciated, and things that are fun when everyone is invited, and no one is excluded.
