It's my birthday -AND - new pricing scheme
15 years ago
Yep! I'm 24 now, as of 3 hours ago. No big whoop. I'm getting a little older, but I'm doing my best and trying to stay positive as most I can. I have things I regret, as well as things I would do all over again if I could. As I get into this once-more-divisible-by-twelve age, I feel my once burning need to be important fading- replaced by a contentedness. Content to enjoy the company of my friends, content to meet people here and there and say goodbye to those who I've grown apart from. Content to just do well enough to share the future years with the ones I love.
Especially you,
chayfox. You'll always be the one that I would give up anything for.
And I'm thankful for it. Running yourself ragged chasing your dreams isn't always what it's cracked up to be. I'm...
Happy.
In other news, I've been mulling over my commission prices. While it remains true that I do like money, I realized that I could be a good bit more charitable about the art end of it, I think! The number one thing was that I figured, nobody wants to pay extra for just two characters in a picture. So! Now, not only have I dropped the price of overall commissions, but up to two characters are covered by the charge. Keep in mind, I am still not open for commissions yet! But nevertheless, here was my tentative plan:
Sketch (up to 2 characters!) - $12
Digital Color (up to 2 characters!) - $25
Additional characters - $10 each
Detailed background - $5
Comic page (sketch) - $24
Comic page (color) - $40
What do you think?

Good news: Life can still be fun.
Unrelated: You draw delectable naughtybits.
And it's your birthday?! Why wasn't I made aware of this?! >=O *Jots it down onto the birthday list* I'll have to whip up something for you tomorrow, after sleep :P
Btw, those prices seem pretty fair =3 If anything, you might be able to raise the Comic page from 40 to 50, though I'm not certain ^^
Also, I...kinda wanna apalogize for... my douchebaggery back on my journal a while back. So yeah. sorry.
Again, happy b-day, you~
But there goes Nori, being all different and stuff again.
And I think lotsa artists charge extra for over two characters now-a-days... not ALL of them, but a good deal. It's the way of the future!
Happy 23rd birthday, Nori. One day, I will catch up to you in age... Which is physically impossible.
I've been writing more Glint n' Spark, by the way. I was on a roll the other day. It's just tough without you around. Talking with you is a great source of motivation when it comes to those two... probably because you're their daddy. ;P
Guess I might want to work on one of the pieces I was coloring for you when I get in, then. :D
Burdday
birfday
birthday..
but yaaay looking forward to it, I did have a hankerin to commission ya :D
As to saying goodbye, you're not getting rid of me that easily. :)
Happy birthday, man. I am thinking of a cake! .... And then mentally throwing it at you. What, you're way over there! How else am I supposed to get it there?!?
Also, those prices look good -- just don't sell yourself short. :)
(Is it Nori's birthday, too? Alex ought to give him the requisite birthday spanking, that naughty fellah...)
Very reasonable (potential) prices on the (theoretical) commissions, too.
Bad salesman puns aside, I think that those are really generous prices for your level of skill, you ought to be able to make quite a few commissions when you open up. I know I'd love one <3
Wish i had cake...but i heard that its a lie (mandatory Portal reference) :3
also happy birfday!
And assuming I have the money available when you do open for commissions, I will definitely consider one.
Still hope I have a reserved spot. >.>
A belated birthday present coming your way... as soon as you open those commissions up
Happy Birthday! Uh...I should have sent a card...
Wow, you're actually not that much older than me. I turned 23 this year.
Oh, and Happy Birthday!
I think it's something that you should mention when you actually are running for commissions, of which we still haven't spoken on.
Also, you still playing Global Agenda?
Here's a song for ya: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ScSeo-dyC_0
Your face is a shoe
Your grandma has Alzheimer's, or is probably dead
And right triangles are most likely to become addicted to Marijuana
I think that's how it goes.
Happy Belated Birthday too.
:P
I've not actually played that game, but I heard that quote recently, so I had to. :P Seriously tho, glad you're content. I think being content and maybe making a small difference is an adequate goal to strive for. ^^
I still can't believe I'm older than you. You have a much better attitude towards others and about life in general, much less someone who's 24...
Those prices sound incredibly reasonable to me. I'll definitely be on the waiting list when you do open up.
Just be sure to start out slow and figure out a pace that works for you. I've known (and comissioned) a couple artists that took on too much and burned themselves on the the whole comissions idea, which sounds like it might have happened to you, if I've read correctly in previous journals..
