Archery

Everyone has seen the Lord of the Rings trilogy. And thus everyone knows who Legolas is. The awesome wood elf with archery skills of no parallel. (Why I had to clarify if everyone already knows is beyond me.)
I've always found archery to be a very skillful combat technique, thus I have wanted to study it further. So now I finally did. I took a short archery lesson at a local Bowmen shop, and I learned a LOT more than I anticipated I would in the first lesson. And put it to some good use too. For being my first time actually shooting a modern day compound bow, I was stunned by how well I was able to do. I never was more than 8 inches off my target. Hand eye coordination has always been easy for me considering 80% of my time not spent at school or on homework is spent on a video game. I'm quite a proficient sniper in Halo and have developed almost subconscious head shot skills. But as any experienced bowmen will tell you, if you think that because you can wiggle your thumbs really fast means you can fire a weapon just as fast and accurately, you're dead wrong. It may prove to assist in your starting skills with being able to steady your body in accordance to your target but it won't make you a sharp shooter.
I fell in love with that sport the moment I shot the first true bulls eye really. Only made 2 of em out of about 100 shots, but the feeling of euphoria at doing this well on my first try got me hooked. I plan on going back soon and doing it again. It was amazing. All I really need is practice. That's all there is. And that's my plan.
Yeah. Archery is fun.

Lessons would be cool and all, but I have better uses for my money, XD
OH! That reminds me. There's an Archery Range out in the park near the zoo. I saw it while I was running on Thanksgiving.

Look at the map, and just to the northeast of the Oregon Zoo is a small text thing that says Archery Range. They also have Tennis Courts and lots of Gardens and stuff. I'm planning on hanging out there a lot this summer, and since you'd be able to drive us around, we could totally go together.
Or if not in summer, maybe on the weekends when it's warmer.
Think about it :D
Also, we need to make some concrete plans to go see TRON.
