I've had a few people I watch talk about their tablets. Um... I'll look through their journals to see what they say, but all I can remember off the top of my head is the word 'Bamboo'. Maybe it's a brand, or a product name? Search for that.

A Wacom Bamboo is all I've heard so far, but that was someone saying that they "replaced their old crappy wacom bamboo" so maybe it's not so great.

The Wacom Cintiq is the most ideal one I've seen but it's around $2000. I'm not really desperate but I was just thinking about it.

I don't plan on getting it. It was just the best model I found. It actually displays your drawing on the pad so it feels more natural. I believe that Tom (artist of TwoKinds) uses one.

Holy balls. How the fuck did he afford one of those sumbitches. Supposedly, the cheapest decent tablet is a 30 buck one. Still pricey.

I think your best bet is post some comments on the pages of really good digital artists (check my watch list if you're desperate, I'm watching 300 people, you should be able to find SOMEONE) and ask them what they use, or what they would want if they could get a new tablet. Perhaps mention your budget and/or what you're looking for in functionality.
