Tis The Season!

... to be writing! Hello, FA_Writers!
Faora here, still alive and kicking and screaming despite life's best efforts to keep me down!
First things first! NaNoWriMo finished up on November 30th! Congratulations to everyone who participated! Woo! Huzzah! Jubilation! And to those who managed to actually hit the 50,000 word goal and completed the challenge, some extra kudos to you! Hell, share your experiences in the comments below and see what your fellow FA Writers got up to! Be proud of your achievements, now that we've pulled out of November and moved into the end of the year (though who ever wants to pull out of
november anyway?).
The holidays are upon us! Snow litters the landscape for those northerners lucky enough to be freezing their tails off, while the more southerly lands are gearing up for sweltering, summer heat. It's time to relax a little, set aside time for friends and family, and enjoy some time away from everything that stresses and strains us. Goodness knows that some of us need it, especially after NaNo.
... bah. Strike while the iron's hot! Stress and strain build character! So as we throw ourselves into the end of 2010 and race towards the new year, here's a little challenge for you all who might be interested in giving it a shot!
If stress and strain build character, then let's expose our characters to a little of that! Grab one or two of your characters from anything you've ever written ever, and scribble out a quick little short story for them. Toss them into a situation they're completely ill-equipped for, something that puts them right out of the comfort zone. Push them to their limits, then push them over and see what they're really made of! Build some character for your characters, and don't be kind! And then, once you've given the challenge a shot, come send this account a note and let me know! I'll repost your stories up here for extra exposure, and trade notes!
So look over the challenge, consider your characters and how best to stress them out, and discuss your November writing experiences below!
Until next time, be well and keep writing!
