Well, on to greener pastures.

As you may have noticed, with the ban on underaged pornography comes the banning of Sonic-related art. It was funny, actually, how many laughed at the idea that the destruction of one thing would lead to the destruction of another- dismissed it as "slippery slope," as it were.
Well, as we are now seeing on the Site Discussion forums, that's exactly what's occurring. To make matters worse, even those of us who would like to stay and obey the rules are being told very little that would make us comfortable enough to do so. The definitions for the rules are so completely arbitrary and confusing that it's impossible for any of us within a stone's throw of those parameters to upload anything comfortably. And you know what? I'm a grown-ass man. I don't need that on top of the other stresses of life. That's why I'm mostly leaving this site. I don't know that I'll come here for much of anything, but I'm not deleting anything.
At the same time, I'm a little sad. How many years have I been here? How many memories will I leave behind? Too many to count. I've met a lot of really cool people here, and I'll never forget it- just like I remember DA, and TeamArtail.
And yet, I just can't bear it. There's such an increasing witch hunt regarding anybody who even thinks one might enjoy underaged mature art. I'm almost sure it wasn't Neer's intent, but unfortunately this ban being in place really gives some unfounded prejudices people have a big platform from which to shout from. And I don't want to hear it. It's fearful, it's hateful, and when you sit down and consider the facts like an adult, it's wrong.
I signed the social contract. I don't murder, I don't rape, I don't steal, I don't defraud people, and I don't molest children- nor support anyone who does such things in any way, even by consumption. I have nothing to apologize for by drawing or looking at drawn pictures. There is nobody being exploited, and I am no more guilty of enabling child rape than Splatterhouse is guilty of enabling murder, or Ocean's Eleven is guilty of enabling incredibly clever Casino heists.
Will Inkbunny always be around? Who knows? Who cares. I just like the overall theme of the site a little better- it seems inclusive and friendly, and even if it's less than it appears, it's still more than I feel I have to look forward to here.
Regardless. Thanks, Dragoneer and Arcturus, for giving me a neat place to stay and share my works with other people for free. Thanks, people of FA, for being largely receptive to me. And thanks most of all to my fans and fellow artists, who I hope will continue to inspire me for years to come.
It's a dark world. Keep having fun.
EDIT: *siiiiiiiiiiiiigh*
Read the journal, folks. All the way through. I know you can do it.
To recap: I'm not deleting stuff, I have a lot of reasons to go, and I am on Inkbunny.

FA+

You couldn't know that, but that's sort of the point.
Why run from it, when there's no where to run?
Nobody is going to change the mind of the actual source of this ban - the business that processes site donations.
Unless you're into fantasy alternate history, that question has no answer. Inkbunny's payment processor did drop them, and they decided NOT to ban cub porn, instead seeking alternative methods of payment processing.
Inkbunny was initially created by people who foresaw FurAffinity tightening its censoring policies, and wanted to create a site with a different business model where acceptable content rules would not be arbitrarily tightened.
How's that working out for Inkbunny.
Anyway, I don't feel like being directed in that particular way, and it's not the only reason.
And be happy, alright?
Most of my submissions have a big box of... basically stories about them. So yes, while I could easily get away with simply not saying anything and posting up pictures, I'm just not that kind of artist- there are a ton of others who do that way better than me. I'm here to involve the viewer in the narrative of the picture, and if I have to pretend and edit and remove bits and the like... I'm sorry, but I did that for years with FA and DA, and it was just a miserable experience.
Plus, there's just the people. I mean, you can hand out bans and infractions and whatnot, but that doesn't change the general attitude toward it, you know? There's no way to administrate that away.
it sokay notri you can still upload your stuff here
I'm curious as to how I'll be able to keep in touch with you, once you leave FA.
As for Sonic porn, the characters are under 18 so under the new rules it's technically banned; however if drawn older, or in a less cartoony style, it would be okay.
I loves your stuff though.

Be well.
But, again... Breasts. THAT is necessary and sufficient for your acceptability here on FA. The logic is sound. Without need of description of ambiguously-aged characters as underaged and with the conditions of necessity and sufficiency met, you should be beyond reproach.
The problem here, however, is that many of my characters are underage... but just barely. Or not as much as others. Post-pubescent, but not quite adults. The reason for this is because... that's a theme I like. Growing up and sexually maturing. That confusing time in our lives where we're just not sure what's going on, but everything's so intense and strange. We're not children anymore, but we just can't quite be grown-ups yet. Much of my art is like a documentary of that age. I find it fascinating.
I don't have any love for prepubescents. They're funny, but not attractive. Still, I wouldn't try to stop somebody from drawing them, regardless.
It is, indeed, a very confusing time. And with the developing (Though, Devil's Advocate for the other side, not full developed) bodies, there's some case for ambiguity and that wonderful "wiggle room" that all people seek. As I said above, I am very, very in the middle. Capable of changing my opinion on the issue given the specific circumstances. And since they're all lines on paper, the state of pre-frontal cortex myelination doesnt matter. Power-dynamic fetishization exists in many contexts, after all.
As I said, I will miss you, for the amazing creativity you demonstrate. And because I'll probably never get a commission or learn details about the Prostitute's Guild.
But... honored, as well.
I'm curious, because like I mentioned before, I /am/ interested in commissioning you. Perhaps not immediately, but...yes, definitely. If you'll be making yourself unavailable as a whole, though, well...that's unfortunate, but I suppose I can deal.
It looks like FA has been a victim of a witch hunt, and now the rules are set to appease them. I doubt that this pressure will be here forever, but I understand your decision.
Wherever you may go, know that you are an artist who has shown us many things we hadn't seen before, and we are grateful.
Live well.
All my Inkbunny is for is whatching artists who aren't here anymore/post "cub" there.
I'm really sorry to know there won't be new art from you on here... I'm glad you'll still be drawing, but... yeah... its more that the atmosphere around here is feeling sorta toxic. I can't keep up with multiple art sites at this point so I'm still gonna stay here a while longer, but if things keep heading the way they're going, I may have to look for a happier place to doodle as well.
I'm not at all happy with the increases in censorship, regardless of the business reasonings. The forums... I learned a long time ago to mostly stay away from most internet forums in general due to the sheer concentration of jaded bitterness and spite that seems to reside there.
I think art is supposed to be fun. Your art is fun, which is why I've enjoyed it.
I'll miss it.
The fact that you get attacked when, so you have characters who are marked under 18 but the disproportionate body parts on them, as well as the mature way they handle themselves and acknowledge a knowledge for what they're doing?
I complete agree with your "drawn does not advocate" slogan, but some people are too thick, hateful, fearful, or ignorant to recognize that.
But of all things, above all the things that makes me the saddest to see you go, where it literally nearly draws a tear to my eye (if I wasn't so damn desensitized to the point where I virtually only cry maybe once or twice a year) is the fact that someone who not only knows of but signed the social contract is getting forced out. It also pisses me beyond belief where I may close shop and boycott FA for a while to see such an event happen.
And I do understand the whole "drawn does not advocate" slogan. I even mostly agree with it. But I wouldn't call someone a moron just for disagreeing with it, it's an understandable and respectable opinion, and hating someone just because they believe differently then do is, well, it's being hateful and fearful as well. =/
I'll miss Nori too, but mainly because of boobies.
Will Dr. Gwen be moving as well?
This is not About the Bans Annymore, somenody gets affected in someway always for it
But its True Maybe FA will be out of many themes and stuff, at least Until they could find a way to restore those themes back..if they actually intend to, if not well Just move up
I got Myself an Inkbunny Account as well because since The way I draw is "toony" or kinda chibi its getting me a bit of troubles for being considered young
but then Again Im almost off of this site, or leave IB as the main one for now until see whatever happens
Im looking foward to see what you'll do in the Future, dont give up
250 pics were deleted, some were due to *copyright laws*, and some were because of "DA dislikes video game sprites"
So I pretty much did a ragequit and left the site.
Well, I'm sure all of us are sad to see you go, but hopefully InkBunny will do you good.
Me, as well as many others, will be sure to visit you at IB, farewell from FA
Heh, I'll have made this move almost as many time as you have, I think. I remember following you over on DA and SheezyArt as well. I'll be glad to keep following you, then.
So. *patpats*
I'm especially glad to see you're not deleting anything. Personally, I say this ban is the admin's mess; I'm not going to expend the slightest bit of energy helping them clean it up.
...Yeah, okay, that amounts to spite. So bite me... S'bite me... Spite me? ;) Anyway I just remembered hard evidence of my spite: to make things even more ambiguous I made alterations to the description of each picture I felt might be controversial; said alterations may or may not get around the ban, but if they don't, it's just more evidence that it's worded and enforced incredibly poorly.
That's a tad spiteful, but it's reasonable too. There's a lot of reasons to let them handle it; not the least being that who knows what you'd delete that they'd leave?
>...Yeah, okay, that amounts to spite. So bite me... S'bite me... Spite me? ;)
LOL! Niiiice.
>Anyway I just remembered hard evidence of my spite: to make things even more ambiguous I made alterations to the description of each picture I felt might be controversial; said alterations may or may not get around the ban, but if they don't, it's just more evidence that it's worded and enforced incredibly poorly.
Exactly. Someone else said this is like them trying to ban a color from the site. It's so vague they basically can't. And they deserve to realize that on their own as they try to implement it.
It's much like saying "We're banning the color pink, but lightish-red is okay."
People can bitch all they want on the forums, but I only care what officially goes into the AUP. If the AUP doesn't get updated, I don't care.
What's really funny is these laws get passed by senators who enjoy fondling their barely legal interns. How's that for hypocrisy?
But,I done told ya' this would happen. It creeps up on you. And,of course, idiots say "it can't happen". Smart people realize it can happen and work to make sure it don't.
It varies very much from state to state.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ages_o.....#United_States
Of note: In California, an 18 year old and a 16 year old fucking is indeed a criminal act. I didn't read further as I only need one counterexample.
Whoever wrote this law clearly didn't have their head screwed on right. Oh California.
It help this along, there's a "right to consent" test that an underage person can take to prove they're "ready". It's a simple quiz that tests the individual on their knowledge of sex and, more importantly, the consequences of it. If they pass, they are given the legal right to consent to sex and sexual behavior. Additionally,at 18,the right to consent is given automatically. However, under the age of 18,legally binding contacts still have to be reviewed and signed by the child's legal guardians. Additionally, the statute of limitations doesn't apply if the victim was underage at the time the crime was committed.
Then you have a mechanism that lets the early bloomers have their sexy fun and still protects kids from assholes. Well,as much as it protects them now, anyway.
It's dark and trying times for the people on FA... I don't blame you for wanting to leave:
I already added wolfblade, so I guess one more artist would make me check that site more often.
I really do like your stuff, so I don't mean any disrespect by saying I disagree with you :3 I just want more giant breasteses and dongsoids.
If you hadn't noticed, Nori's drawing style is mostly that of Sonic. Thus, if he drew any Sonic character (a series he loves to make fan art of) that was canonically under the age of 18 (nearly all of them) in a sexual situation (which Nori does with great fervor) without drastically modifying their form to make them look "more adult", it will be considered cub art and thus is banned.
So, by saying "comes the banning of Sonic-related art", I believe Nori is referring to his Sonic-related art, much of which falls under the definitions of that ban, and likely in the future (at the rate things are going) the rest of his art that isn't Sonic canon but is still in the sonic style and doesn't look "manly" or "womanly" enough as well.
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1076226/
take a look at this picture if im right you have drawn sonic chars like that or somewhat like that in your art so its all good
I'm gonna miss you. :<
I wish you the best of luck and I hope you have just as much fun on Inkbunny as you did here; if not more.
To me that implies that you are not simply closing up shop, that to me it is to say that you won't be posting anymore. I guess some take it as though to say you are never going to do anything on this site anymore, as though you'll never comment and fav. Now I don't assume anything, but the latter there doesn't seem like something that would have much reason for you to go through with. Just because you're 'leaving' doesn't mean you won't/can't visit the site.
But anyway. I for one wish to thank you for the bit that you have done for me, you were one of the first 'big' names on FA to watch me, and that was back when my skill was lacking, my pictures had major flaws. I thank you for your kind, well thought out comments on my pics. And I especially thank you when I posted a journal asking for tips on drawing, you were one of the VERY few people that took a little time to comment, you gave me hope that I could draw, that I shouldn't give up no matter what.
So Nori, I wish you luck in wherever you go, and whatever you do. I am not here to influence your decision, I will, and do support it your decision. May whatever site(s) you go to not go through the tribulations that FA is currently going through.
I'm really glad that I could positively affect you. People forget that every artist has to start somewhere- we don't just drop out of the sky sketching perfect circles. And critique isn't always negative- creatively stating what you liked about something is just as strong a guiding force for anyone- plus, it's a lot more inspiring.
If I could ask anything of you, it would be this: Don't let anyone step on you, and don't apologize for who you are, but always encourage those less fortunate.
And worry not, I'm far to happy with my progress to stop, that and I would feel bad if I let my fans down. So I'm here to stay through thick and thin. And if the worst happens to FA, then I will simply have to find another site.
.....I didn't, however, expect said bans to follow so quickly! I suppose I might've seen this coming a little more easily had I followed the forums?
It's a shame, really, with the speculative changes happening so rapidly, it's very likely the once limited change will now tear the entire site apart. Sonic art is nearly as common as your typical adult stuff, and that's not something that will disappear easily.
Well...What happens, happens. For all I know the whole thing could collapse overnight now.
it isn't banned
Seriously D: you're fun to watch. Least I can do is check that shit out.
Will the Doctor continue to be in here on FA?
I wonder what part gets the chop next?
I mean I see all your reasons and stuff and I don't want to try to counter them in some sort of persuasive argument or tell you what to do, but on a purely emotional level I say: Don't Go!
I really like your art, tons of people on this page alone want you to stay.
Don't go!
Anyhow, thanks for showing us the great art and good luck in all your endeavors even if you feel you cant stay!
Maybe at least wait until the final word on the new rules is out?
*Much pathetic crying and whining etc.*
i'm not surprised some people are leaving because of this, i don't blame them or you. if i could find another site that i could talk with my friends on and enjoy their wonderful art, i would all ready be there.
Wrong, only the ban of sonic related PORN unless it is clear that the characters are ADULT and not children.
how many laughed at the idea that the destruction of one thing would lead to the destruction of another- dismissed it as "slippery slope," as it were.
It is not "slippery slope". Sonic porn is underage. Tails is EIGHT YEARS OLD for fuck sakes. They are not banning clean Sonic art. There is no slippery slope here.
I'm a grown-ass man.
Act like it. Grown-ass men do not cry over sonic porn.
This is me explaining the Sonic porn ban.
And then asshats like you I've seen from afar come on over to give me crap in your own just-barely-within-the-rules way, when in reality your only purpose is to be petty and play out this ridiculous high school oneupmanship game.
I make positive contributions to this place and its people. You do not. I'm not the problem. So shove it up your high and mighty ass, Clayton, nobody ever asked you.
You can continue to think that everything I say is an attack like some sensitive child.
Have a nice day.
Childish.
Except politics. I hate politics
And if you're going to try to be snarky on the sly, you have to make sure the person you're talking to won't pick up on it.
You seem like you could be a good guy, but man, you come off so abrasively. It's hard not to assume the worst, and I've been following your posts in places for a while, now.
I think they should clear it up if they don't want people working around it.
You are weak, and seemingly greatly affected by other peoples opinions of you. Being 'right' is never a path others think highly as most people are twisted as fuck and deep down wrought with prejudice, evil and bigotry. Why submit so readily?
If there's anybody that stands up for logic and reasoning, it's me. But with that, comes a price- you can't make it all about yourself. I am not my cause; a mistake Julian Assange has made, by letting himself become a persona and believing in that, rather than furthering his reasons. If I did that, I'd be just as wrongheaded as the people I was correcting.
Furthermore, I get criticism from people who are young. Teenagers who don't understand how the world works, or 18-20 year olds who think adulthood has endowed them with some kind of cynical experience, when in reality they're just as clueless about how it all really goes down as the kids they chastise. With time, the world will crush their ideals underfoot, and they'll understand more easily how I arrived at the conclusions I did. There's nothing I can do to hasten that process en masse. And frankly, it's not my job. I have a job, and a house, and a life to take care of. I do what I can, but I'm only one man- a man who's already done a lot.
So, no. You're young, and you're wrong.
No one cares about your opinion you arrogant little brat. You're not ready to have a valid opinion. Go enjoy your childhood while you have it and stop wasting your time in pointless debate with people who are old enough to know what they're talking about. The real world will come in and break you and throw your ideology in the garbage before too long, at which point you'll lament all the wasted time you had when all you had to worry about was yourself.
You really doomed yourself when you took the elitist "furries do this" angle. This is such a ridiculous growing undertoe of mistaken misanthropy, fueled by self-importance. You come to me and call me a coward and an idiot, and then you're so surprised when I don't roll over and accept what you say. As it turns out, that's not how the world works- you have to learn how to talk to people if you want to get your point across. And yet, your point is still preposterously overblown.
Gallery isn't community? Duh. That's why I've never left it there. I've been socializing and reaching out to help people in need for nearly a decade, now. As it turns out, I have an entire account where all I do is help people with their problems while asking nothing in return. Can you say the same? Then it seems pretty ridiculous to say that I'm some sort of traitor or something.
Step outside of your clichéd monologue for a second. Leave your comfort zone, hypocrite.

BETWEEN 12 AND 17
YEAH I AM CHECK THIS OUT
I actually really hope you're making all that up, because if not, you've got years of hardship ahead of you. You'll never know who your true friends are. You'll think that being able to control the ignorant is all you need. It isn't a matter of if you'll realize it's an empty pit to fill with your efforts- it's when. You think too fast and too much. Everyone is suspicious. People don't know what they want, only what they think they want. Alone in a room.
Good luck, you sorry bastard.
I don't recall you ever posting any images of under aged canon characters like Cream or Marine, I don't think you've ever even drawn the SonicCD style Amy before.
And even if you did then your art style makes the majority of your characters into teens and adults anyways.
The only character you draw that is a child is Gwen (Who you don't draw in mature ways anyhow.) and the occasional fan character or over endowed side character.
They said it was a ban on under aged canon Sonic characters anyways so I don't see what you are getting so bent out of shape about.
Sorry if you get angry, if you read this. (I wasn't able to get to my computer in the past few days to reply to this properly.)
I'll miss your art.
Take care, Norithics.
Sorry to see you go, but I completely, entirely understand it. I wouldn't want to stick around on a place that doesn't let me draw what I want to draw, either. I worry this place might be a problem for me, too. While I don't dabble much in the realm of underage characters, I had plans to draw characters that look rather small, and could potentially be construed as youthful. Will they be deleted under the new guidelines? I really have no idea, and now I'm scared to try. ^_^;
Nooooorrrriiii.... D:
When you live a life with something controversial, you learn to live a sort of cyber-nomadic life.
thanks Nori, for your public works and contributions.
The best of luck, in your future endeavors.
