Entering Santa Monica

So this is America, where the customer is king, where you can go shoppingt at every possible (and impossible) day or night time? All we can see are locked doors of a Target supermarket at 10:15pm.
I can't say much about the flight from Philadelphia to L.A. except that being awake for 24 hours took it's told. I slept four of the five hours flight. My father got into a conversation with his seat neighbor and when I finally woke up he was kind enough to give us directions and a few suggestions where we should stop on our trip along the Pacific coast.
Our plan was to buy the things we needed right after picking up the rental car. But as you know already that didn't went too well - well, we'll see about that tomorrow. I need an adapter for my laptop's power supply.
At LAX we picked up a fine Dodge Charger. Don't askme how my old man managed to prepare that deal - but being unable to speak a proper English does not stop him from making a fine bargain.
Oh, and I found a place for us to crash for the night: The hotel Days Inn in Santa Monica. Not the most fanciest address in town (meh... not even among the top 10... o top 20...) But it has a roof to keep us dry and two cozy beds to sleep in.
Tomorrow we'll have a walk down the Santa Monica Pier. The best way to get rid of an eight hour jet lack is to take long walks in the sun and breath a lot of fresh air.
