First of all, I would like to thank you all for making it to the first of what I hope to be a long series of monthly Luncheons. I hope you had at least as great I time as I did, and I'm looking forward to seeing all of you at the next Luncheon.

However, next months Luncheon and all future Luncheons will be held not on the fourth, but the SECOND, I repeat SECOND, Sunday of each month. The time, 1:00, and the location, the 99 restaurant in Chalestown (Boston), will NOT be changed.

Here is my reasoning for the change: I was just reviewing the holidays and conventions of the year. It seems that the fourth Sunday can get socked by Anime Boston, Memorial Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas (and it would have landed on FurFright, last year). Would you have any problem if I moved the Luncheons to every second Sunday of each month? Very rarely (if at all) would the Labor Day and Fourth of July weekends include the second Sunday of each month.

Making changes can be the death of a group, but this change makes sense to me. If it's done right from the beginning, then it shouldn't be a major problem.

Boston Area Furry Luncheons

Every second Sunday of each month, at 1:00PM.

The next luncheon will be held on Sunday, April 10. For those of you who need a month’s notice, the following luncheon will be held on Sunday, May 8 (both 2011).

Where:
The 99 in Chalestown: 29-31 Austin Street; Charlestown, MA; 02129-3502; Phone: (617) 242-8999 . It’s a short walk from the Community College T stop, on the Orange Line, and there is plenty of free parking. The prices for meals are reasonable. Finally, there’s free popcorn for those of you who can’t afford a full meal and vegetarian options for us herbivores. ^.^

No one under 18 will be admitted without permission from their parents. I know this may sound silly, but I’m just trying to prevent any sort of trouble.

I know there are those of you who are dying to wear your fursuits or your partials. I’m afraid that’s not the purpose of this event. The purpose of this event is to create an opportunity for us to get to know each other. The presence of something like a fursuit may make someone, who is new to the group, uncomfortable. I’m on the fence when it comes to collars. I own a collar myself, but let’s not show them off until after we’ve had a couple of meets, okay? The same shall go for con badges. Furry artwork and illustrated clothing will be allowed. After all, it will help someone new find our group! ^.^

Fursuiting “After Party”
The Cambridgeside Galleria has been suggested, but, there is fear of a mask law. If you are interested in discussing this matter, feel free to contact me.
