dreams

i don't write... much like i don't dream. or.. to be more precise, i never remember my dreams, and if i do, 99% of the time its a nightmare. with that said...
last night, i had a dream. a very vivid, colorful dream, that i can remember quite clearly. whats fucked up about it, is that there seems to be a reacquiring theme... the house...
long ago... maybe a year ago? maybe less... i had a dream, no, a nightmare, and it all revolved around this house. out in the middle of the deep deep woods... out away from everything, and everyone else, was this house. it looked like a debilitated Chinese tennent home from the way it was falling down upon itself. it looked as though someone continuously built addition after addition until a simple farm house slowly became an apartment building. then abandoned for what appeared to be forever. it gave you the kind of dread that the res evil mansion, or town of silent hill would give you, if you had just wandered into it.
in that dream, i was being chased by something i never saw, but had the constant fear that i must not get caught. i explored the house, top to bottom, and as cool a house as it was in retrospect, i was still scared for my life, and only took in a few details, but they were very very vivid ones.
last night however... the house was much different.
apparently rob the slob and drea vasquez were now living in this giant apartment building, that they recently bought right after it was renovated into a single home. no longer were there separate apartments within, but instead one giant living space, with many many many rooms, 3 stories high. i slightly recognized the outside of the building, but it hadn't stuck me yet. they were giving me, and a bunch of their friends a tour of the place. as we walked up the giant winding staircase up towards the 3rd floor, i began to realize it was the same house. we reached the first "apartment". it looked like any apartment building unit... nothing special... except that i knew, somehow, deep within my soul, i knew that this was the same house from my previous dream. (strangely enough, my brain knew that i had dreamed of this house before, but didn't realize i was dreaming about it again, and instead interperated it as reality.) i turned to rob saying "i know this house! i know this house! there is an elevator shaft! ill find it and prove to you that i had a dream about this house!"
i left in search of the elevator. as i reached the end of the first unit, i was surprised to see no dividing wall. no fire wall. nothing separating this apartment from the giant, apartment sized room that i was now in. black and rust colors dominated this room. everything was made out of sheets of riveted steel and fence work. it looked like an industrial grunge bar... there was a small kitchen along one wall, a grand staircase heading down to the floor below along another wall, and a bathroom in the back. i remembered this room from the first dream. the elevator doors were in this room. i was sure of it! i searched every wall. i couldn't find any door. "maybe it was taken out in the renovation project" i thought to myself. i continued into the next unit, to find that i was awestruck. from floor to ceiling, along every wall, someone had sculpted paper-mache shapes to cover the entire unit with, all of witch were painted sky blue and white. everything in the unit was this color scheme actually... in the center of the room, the hardwood floor sunk into a seating area, deep enough that the floor was level with the back of the couch within. a well stocked bar sat along the back of the unit, and a huge flat screen tv took up the majority of one wall. i just stood there... soaking in the beauty of this room... in total awe... but no! i was on a mission! i lined up where i was sure the elevator should have been, but no... it wasn't there.
i returned to the "grunge bar" room to find that rob, drea, and the rest of the guests had arrived in that room, and were sipping cocktails, and nibbling finger-foods.
i reported to rob my findings, or rather, lack there of. i told him to go to the basement. that's where i first saw the giant steel elevator doors, witch were bolted shut. even if the shaft was removed in the renovation, those doors surely must remain below. "NO!" he shouted, as he cast me a wild glare. much more quietly, he whispered unto me the words, "we dont go down there. no one goes down there". he, in all my years, never looked more serious. it sent a chill down my spine.
i decided now that i should shrug it off, and enjoy myself. i grabbed a cocktail, and walked up to drea, and jokingly said, "hey! looking for a roommate? the place sure is big enough!"
"no... we cant have anyone else living here... we just simply cant have it!" again... a very serious tone, very serious face...
then she switched topics motioning me to look down. "have you met our friends from Portland? they came all the way here just to see the place!" i then saw 3 of the ugliest cats ive ever seen, and 2 ankle biter dogs. then i looked around to notice that all the guests were small, house pets.
i then woke up very suddenly.
ok experts... WHAT THE FUCK!???
