Furry Questioned
I dont know what it means to be a fur anymore.
what was once sharing fun dreams, rollplay and conversations with like minded people have now turned into serious people and their serious egos/life and less about the fluff.
Over time who were once friends have now drifted away to the point that some now annoy me and im sure i annoy them too. my desire to move closer is now questioned as we have less in common as i thought, tho i still want to move somewhere ...
Why do i stay in this madness?
I still love animals, art of them and rollplaying as one but i get the impression that art aside, people dont want to do that so much anymore.. so what do i replace this with, maybe im just getting old... id ask my magic 8ball but it answers " i dont know"

That channel has degraded, for the most part, into something really dull as of a year or two ago. It's now either boring, dodgy, or technology as the topic. I'll admit, I fuel the latter, but only when nothing else is really happening...
It's just the way things are there now. There used to be much casual RPing, talk relevant to furry, art shared, and people helped one another like they were family.
Now, that's been done in other places. Its still fun to tune into once in a while, and at least the heavy trolling has stopped. But trust me, IRC is dead. It's 'furry' spirit has looooooong since departed. :P
Sadly this is sort of to the detriment of us non Auckland/North Island furs, not that its truly any ones fault, i guess it was only a matter of time.
What needs to happen is a regular excuse for a meetup. Say, bi-weekly, or monthly. Play poker, go for walks, board games, role-play, LAN games, anything to get furs coming over. And don't do it just once, do it for a good long while, and make a fuss about it. Stop relying on IRC as your only social interaction, at the end of the day even an interesting day on IRC isn't really that fulfilling when it comes to good memories...
IRC was fantastic in it's hey day, but all good things come to an end. As Monty Python famously quoted: "Adopt and Adapt"!
