Blast From the Past

... is the title of this weekend's episode of "Transformers: Animated" on Cartoon Network, which introduces the new versions of those faves from the old days, the Dinobots. While this episode had some plot issues (it is a kid's show, after all) I enjoyed it muchly, perhaps even channeling my inner ten-year-old.
Kudos go to voice artist David Kaye, for doing an excellent rendition of Grimlock (not to mention this series' Optimus Prime, and Megatron from Beast Wars and the recent anime TF shows)
There's a lot of people who have issues with this new Transformers show (especially the "Teen Titans-esque" art style), but it's something that I've been missing for a long time now - just plain fun to watch.

i was watching that earlier personally im glad it amimated again not to bag on the styles but the 3D style was getting old to me
heres a hint: POSER!!!!
heres another: AC01
and yet another: stupid human
Techno-dinosaurs who went total-lizard if their head gear was removed?
Or how about that one show Cadillac's and Dinosaurs?
Give me good old fashioned "ALF Tales".
Many a night I had dreams like that...for my brother's.
Bwahahahaha...I'm so evil at times
i look sometimes at the old transformer series there
Trouble is I don't know who to blame for that, Wheeljack, Takara, or Hasbro
P.S. I'm not a G1 purist.
I absolutely agree about David Kaye. He's been doing an amazing job so far, especially going from Megatron to Optimus. And yay for Corey Burton as the new Megatron.
Probably one of my favorite parts of the show so far, though (and I realize how dumb this might sound) is the opening theme song. It sounds good, and does a great job of referencing the original theme without ruining it. With a lot of the recent shows like Armada and Cybertron, they ruined the theme songs by trying to add some sort of hip hop sound. It's nice that they finally realized what worked in the original theme, and now when I hear the show starting, it actually makes me feel like, "Yeah, I'm about to watch some Transformers!" Okay, geek moment over.
I got a real kick out of the first episode, actually, where they showed some 'history files' from the G1-series. XD nice tie in.
I'm looking forward to seeing new episodes, though it's a strain for me to watch them, as I work until JUST as they start. XP
Variation is the spice of life. If anything, the Transformers know that (otherwise, why would they have alt-forms? ;) )
