i was watching that earlier personally im glad it amimated again not to bag on the styles but the 3D style was getting old to me

totally agree, this show was made to appeal the G1 fans while also appealing to new fans who're getting into Transformers for the first time. Once you get used to the art style, the show quickly grows on you. And yeah, Kaye did a very great rendition of Grimlock (I also like how Grimlock was named as well), I really see some good things for this show compared to the Unicron Trilogy we had not long ago.

Me and a group of friends were watching this in the school lobby. I'm really having issues dealing with the new designs but the stories have alot of potential from what I've seen. It looks like they did pay attention to writing the stories. I also noticed they seem to do alot of little 'throw backs' to previous TF series. Its only what episode 3 and they are already hinting at plots and setting up sides, Megatron seems more like his Beast wars version with his plotting and using people.

Dinobots, I'd never hear of, but do you remember Dinosaucer's?

Techno-dinosaurs who went total-lizard if their head gear was removed?

Or how about that one show Cadillac's and Dinosaurs?

Give me good old fashioned "ALF Tales".

I had most of them on off-the-air VHS. Too bad only a couple of \"selected episodes\" DVDs were made from the series.

I haven't seen it, but knowing that it's made by the guys who did Teen Titans, I only fear that it's been spammed with a freaking ridiculous anime meme every 10 seconds.

On that part of things, the show is very merciful. It's more cartoony than you might expect a robot-oriented cartoon to be, and there's the occasional posing and speed-line backgrounds, but so far no heads growing five times the size, sweat drops, forehead vein symbols, or other 'anime standard iconography'.

Well, at least that's good to hear. Now I only hope that the creators can keep their stories together, and hopefully episodes will actually make sense unlike some previous TT episodes.

I have this same argument about the Dinobots with my own "kids" (24, 22, and 16): Grimlock is the only character name that's clever. Slag was just plain dumb and Sludge they didn't even put any thought into.

Trouble is I don't know who to blame for that, Wheeljack, Takara, or Hasbro

The series is fun and has been growing on me. I did like how they intro'd the dinobots in this.

I saw the ep too and it was great. This new series may not be %100 G1 but it has the G1 spirit and the fun. David Kaye must have done some studying and watched some G1 eps to get Grimlock's voice and personality that right.

P.S. I'm not a G1 purist.

I'm still getting used to the art style, but otherwise I agree. This show has been really fun to watch. It looks to be setting up some good story lines as well.

I absolutely agree about David Kaye. He's been doing an amazing job so far, especially going from Megatron to Optimus. And yay for Corey Burton as the new Megatron.

Probably one of my favorite parts of the show so far, though (and I realize how dumb this might sound) is the opening theme song. It sounds good, and does a great job of referencing the original theme without ruining it. With a lot of the recent shows like Armada and Cybertron, they ruined the theme songs by trying to add some sort of hip hop sound. It's nice that they finally realized what worked in the original theme, and now when I hear the show starting, it actually makes me feel like, "Yeah, I'm about to watch some Transformers!" Okay, geek moment over.

Well, I'm always for variations on a theme. I rather like TF-Animated, and it's new designs. *snickers* I'm still getting used to Bulkhead and Starscream's voices, as, like everyone else, I know who ELSE those VAs play. (someone yellow and square, and someone pink and five-pointed -- No names required).

I got a real kick out of the first episode, actually, where they showed some 'history files' from the G1-series. XD nice tie in.

I'm looking forward to seeing new episodes, though it's a strain for me to watch them, as I work until JUST as they start. XP

Variation is the spice of life. If anything, the Transformers know that (otherwise, why would they have alt-forms? ;) )
