A not so quick update of sorts
So I realized my last actual update was back in ... August or so. Figured it was time for at least some show that I was alive and still kicking around. So here goes a bit of a rambling update, don't know ho many will make it all the way through as I'm sure it'll be rather dull to hear.
I finally convinced my father to come down and see my house after three years of owning and doing my own repairs on it, the same one he lent me $2K for the down payment on. Turns out all I had to do was be given some really good seats to a Red Sox game and invite him down. Guess it's the first time in 5 years (since my sister's wedding) that he's been south of Portland Maine so he wasn't so sure about it. He came down and spent Friday night in my spare room then we went to the game Saturday, this was of course the same Saturday that the hurricane hit Massachusetts so right after we watched the Sox win he went back to his place to keep an eye on his house and his mother who lives with him. The hurricane hit, didn't do any damage to my house, luckily only took down a few trees that weren't that old, I didn't loose power for more then 10 minutes (have to love being on the same power grid as the local hospital, college, and post office.
Survived the eighth anniversary of my friends murder (mid august) still miss her but there isn't much that I can do about it.
September was a rather slow month, they kept me at 40 hour work weeks so I had time to get my house ready for the upcoming New England winter. My father had his 54th birthday. Hard to believe he's getting up there in age like that.
October, works was bumped up to 12 hour shifts 5 days a week again, helps with the bills I have to pay considering they never stop coming. I went to Maine to spend a week, had to escape the state as I always do for the Freyburg fair and of course I like being away from most people when my birthday hits. Somehow I managed to survive another year, got some really nice birthday arts from
bubblekitten17 found here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6644202/ and
susuke found here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6668867/ Again thank you both for the arts. Hm, not much else happened that month, my older brother had his anniversary, the fifth year anniversary of my grandfather passing and Halloween, which I already posted on here what I wore to scare small children.
November my older sister had her wedding anniversary on the 10th, still pulling 12 hour shifts though its now ranging between 6 and 7 day work weeks. Good for the bank account hell on the body. I'm also still doing as much as I can to make sure the house is ready for winter, next time I don't buy a house that's almost 40 years old and wasn't taken care of to well. Finally completed the shed in my backyard, mental note: next time something says it takes 2 or 3 people to build don't do it yourself. Yeah I'm stubborn but the damn thing is up finally. The ninth anniversary of my high school buddy taking his life went by the week before Thanksgiving. Went to Maine for Thanksgiving day, spent it with my father and the family that could make it. that included my pregnant sister, her husband and their 18month old daughter. My younger brother and his roommate, my father, his mother, and my younger two siblings, my mother and a 'friend' of hers (yeah she's in the middle of her third divorce so I have no idea what he was to her anymore) Managed to survive, luckily my mother left me alone most of the time since she was to busy being around my sister and her daughter. Of course she did have to hit me with one of her usual comments, when I told her how much I've been working lately she replied with "somehow I knew you'd end up like your father" which of course makes me wonder the meaning behind the comment since she divorced him cause of how much he worked yet he was always willing to help pay the bills for us kids. Black Friday, I refused to go out shopping so I did what I needed to online, yeah I'm really not a people person. Then that night I went to see the Trans Siberian Orchestra show down in Providence (my one big self splurge a year it seems) quite enjoyed the show and can't wait for their next album to come out. Worked Sunday, still on 12 hour shifts 7 days a week as needed.
Well that seems to be it, congratulations if I didn't mange to bore you to sleep with the rambling update.
