This shit storm I call life

So yeah, been a bit since I've updated so here's just a brief run down, want to know more ask me in private since I'm not one to overly public about my issues.
Been working in purchasing since my promotion, doing well at it in my opinion and we haven't had any major issues like the last guy. My boss comes to me for help often since I've been with the company a lot longer then he has. Late last year I also took on the local IT functions, though corporate IT hasn't given me much 'power' I still do end user support and trouble shooting that they can't or won't do remotely.
So far I've survived 3 rounds of layoffs because of my training and knowledge, seems they don't care about seniority lately since I'm going on 9 years at the plant. Found out another round is coming up and soon, starting to wonder how much longer I'll survive these the way things are going. In the mean time I'm taking on as much as I can to be as useful as possible to make it harder to get rid of me.
The New England winter as most know has been extremely rough for the last 40 or so days (I'm saying mother nature was a Seahawks fan because it all started around the super bowl) tons of snow which isn't good on someone with a bad knee and shoulder to have to shovel but it's getting done because I still have places to be.
Found out back in January my older brother got arrested, not going into details on that here. Aside from that there are other things going on that I'm not getting into at the moment.
