Awesome People and Close Friends Part 1
So last night sucked major balls to say the least x_X
Late in the afternoon, i started developing a stomach pain which i just assumed was me being hungry (Since all i had for breakfast was a Bacon and Tomato sandwich) So when dinner came, i thought a nice plate would calm the pain down, and life would move on.
Well after dinner, helping mom with cleaning up, i noticed i was still feeling pretty icky and barfy, so i went to lay down for a bit, but the pain just kept getting worse >_< So finally my folks came into my room all concerned, and thought maybe my appendix was on its way out x_X I decided i would wait and see if the pain would get COMPLETELY unbearable first. Well not even 10 minutes later i was in the bathroom puking my guts out, as well as having the liquid shits, to which point i said "Okay, lets go to the hospital >_<"
The hospital is about a 20 minute drive away, since we live in middle-of-nowhere farm country, so we just drove there instead of waiting for an ambulance. On the way there, had to pull over a couple times so i could puke my guts out more. Thankfully i was able to hold my ass long enough to wait to get to a bathroom at the hospital >.<
I was less than impressed with the ER reception at the Vernon Jubilee Hospital... Heaven forbid a real emergency happen <_< Took me about an hour to get a bed, and an hour before the doctor came to see me. I was in too much pain to notice, but my mom had caught wind that the nurses thought i was "faking" it. Then the doctor came in and said "no no, this guy is SERIOUS, he needs an emergency CT scan RIGHT NOW" to which they were apparently more attentive :P
Keep in mind, with all this waiting period, i feel DEHYDRATED to all hell, and Im begging my mom to find me water, but she said i couldnt have any in case i needed to go under the knife, since you can have fluids before surgery >_< So while i was pretty pissed off, i knew she was right... That didnt stop it from being torturing >_<
But after the Doctor ordered the CT scan, she gave me a NICE shot of Morphine, to which i was off to la-la land for a bit. Then i got into the CT scanner. She told me that injecting the dyes into my hand was going to hurt a bit... oh no, it hurt a LOT x_X Enough to snap me out of my morphine drowsy like state @.@ so they did the CT scans, and they put me in a quarantine like room because they feared i might have some kind of highly contagious bug.
In the end, my appendix was fine, and I indeed did have a really nasty SuperBug x_X Im home now, but Im not going anywhere for at least a week, and i have to deal with puking and the shits for a few days >_<

Also: it wouldn't have helped if they gave you anything to eat or drink if you were puking your guts up. I'm a bit surprised they didn't have you on an IV fluid drip.

ok, seriousness... glad you on the mend... and DAMNIT, I hate when med staff just blow off someone in your situation. (*Sighs...*)
Plus, Ambulance rides are one of the ONLY things that isnt free in Canada's health care xD

I remember catching this one before, and yes, the pain was so unbearable that it felt like someone was pounding a massive railroad spike into my gut for a full week. I've no doubt you'll heal but it'll just.. Take a while, and hurt like hell. : /
It seems all over the world we have nurses who need a smack round the head when serious symptoms appear. Heard stories like this here in the UK too.
Did they give you anything to take home to help with the discomfort/nausea/gut spasms?
