FC Dance Competition 2012
General Information
SIGN-UP FORM:
You can preregister for the dance competition and view the rules here:

We'll still be allowing dancers to register at the door during tryouts, but we're encouraging everyone to preregister online if possible. This will save you time that would otherwise be spent filling out forms in line.

TRYOUTS:
Tryouts will be in the main hotel (Marriot), Willow Glenn 1&2, 10pm-12am ON THURSDAY NIGHT!!!!!!!! (Yeah sorry it's late, but this is the only time it would fit.) It's right next to the where the first evening dance will be held, so come in suit, do the try outs, and then go to the dance afterwards!
We will have water and a fan or two to cool off. The judges for the tryouts will be different than the main competition to avoid potential bias. These judges will have some experience in dancing and entertainment, showmanship, and/or fursuit entertainment.
YOU MUST COME TO THIS EVENT IF YOU WISH TO EVEN TRY AND ENTER THE COMPETITION!!!! The try outs will be necessary as we expect to get quite a few sign-ups at the door for tryouts. (For those who have already responded, we'll make things simpler by having pre-printed enterance forms mostly filled out and waiting for you when you arrive.)
If you can't make it on Thursday night please contact us (fcdancecomp@gmail.com). I will try to arrange a separate time for you to perform in front of the judges.
We'll be notifying everyone of their acceptance by Thursday night at Midnight. The list of finalists will be posted online for everyone to check. (We'll also make an attempt to contact the finalists directly, though we encourage everyone to check the website in case we can't get in touch.)
REHEARSALS:
If you are selected as a finalist, mandatory rehearsals are on FRIDAY from 10am-Noon. If you do not attend, you will forfeit your spot and we'll give it to the next person on the wait list. If you can't come, or will be late, it's important that you notify us as soon as possible at fcdancecomp[at]gmail.com to see if alternative arrangements can be made.
DANCE TIMES:
The time block has slightly changed. We will be performing on FRIDAY 8pm-9:30pm. Be at the event 30 minutes early so you can get prepped and warmed up. Water and fans will be provided backstage. If you are going to be late for this event, again, please notify us ASAP! (If you missed it the last 3 times: fcdancecomp@gmail.com) Plan on the event staring on time. (Of course, things do happen. This is a live show, so there is always the possibility that the event will run late. Please make sure your schedule is flexible.)
Also, just like tryouts, the normal evening dance will start right after our event. Assuming you're not tired, you're welcome stick to around and keep dancing! (Once logistics and A/V staff finish re-configuring the room, of course.)
OTHER NOTES:
A sample copy of the judging form has been posted to the registration site, so that you know what the judges will be looking for. (The form is technically for the choreography division. Freestyle is similar, but we won't be using points.)
The comments section section will be detached and returned to dancers at the end of each round.
